The European Football Championships draw closer as British online sportsbooks prepare to entice punters with special offers.

Betfair, a renowned bookie operating in full compliance with British gambling laws, prepared a set of new fixed-odds offerings. The wagering propositions are designed to compete with traditional land-based bookmakers.

The summer will be hot for British and international punters with EURO12 and the London Olympics on the way, so capturing the attention of people wishing to bet on sports in United Kingdom is key to success of any self-respecting bookie.

Betfair is preparing to launch a special site with brand new fixed-odds betting offerings. This move is expected to put the gambling group closer to traditional bookmakers, competing for hard-earned cash of British bettors.

United Kingdom gambling news learned that the new website will be operational just in time for the EURO12 football championships and is supposed to further extend the already impressive betting offers of Betfair. Currently, the group’s management considers the fixed-odds area to be the weakest link in the chain of Betfair’s wagering propositions.

Betfair already enjoys over four million active members, and remains one of the most trusted and popular online bookmakers in Britain and Europe. The new site is expected to further boost the membership numbers by up to 30 percent.

The new site is being developed by Openbet, a true professional in online betting software, and already a partner of such well-known online sportsbooks as Paddy Power, William Hill and SkyBet.

Betfair’s sports operations director, Nick Hagen, had the following comments: “We know from our own research that we lose 30 percent of our customers’ sports betting wallet to the competition. Why should customers have to go elsewhere and why would we willingly let this large chunk of business walk out the door?”
