Current Barclays Premier League winners Chelsea begin their title defence August 8 as they face Welsh side Swansea in their first game fixture.

Back in the 2005/2006 Premier League season Chelsea won the League title for the second time under the guidance of Mourinho. The Portuguese manager made sure his team secured an eight point lead over Manchester United in the table to be crowned worthy champions. To top up the amazing campaign, The Blues also finished that season without losing a single game at their home stadium Stamford Bridge.
• Mourinho hopes to secure back to back title
• Chelsea FC sign Radamel Falcao on season long loan
• The Blues target Atletico Madrid’s winger Griezmann

10 years after that strong campaign, Mourinho and his squad of winners are hoping they can still retain the coveted trophy again. The introduction of Spanish striker Diego Costa and midfielder Cesc Fabregas was just good enough for Mourinho to mount a great 2014/2015 League campaign. They finished the season with 87 points, 8 points ahead of Manchester City. Furthermore, The Blues only lost a total of 3 matches in the entire campaign away from home.

Former Chelsea player Damien Duff backs Mourinho to retain the title

Having played under Mourinho during his 3-year spell at Chelsea FC, Irish Midfielder Damien Duff has backed the Chelsea boss to win the title in back-to-back seasons. Speaking with British paper the Daily Star, Duff said “Chelsea will be just as good if not better, this time around.” Duff was among the players that won the Barclays Premier League title for two straight seasons under the management of The Blues boss.

According to mobile betting, the former Newcastle United and Fulham midfielder also added that “under Mourinho, the reality is that no player can afford their foot off the gas or loos a bit of hunger because they will be out of the door.” Furthermore, the Irishman stated that “you can’t afford to take it easy. Jose is very good at recruiting and always makes sure he gets hungry players in the squad.”

Chelsea boss acknowledges title defence would not be easy

After dominating the Premier League table for a record of 274 days, Jose Mourinho knows that his current team needs more adjustments to be better and ready for next season. Reports from an online casino England mentioned the Portuguese Boss said “we have to be better if we want to be successful again, the other opponents are not going to accept this without a fight.” Retaining a title in England is very difficult and Mourinho would hope his team can do just that next season.

According to mobile casinos, The Blues have already acquired the signature of Colombian and Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on a one year loan deal in order to start their title challenge. His signing comes due to the fact that former club legend Didier Drogba left after his contract expired with the club. Falcao would be hoping to rediscover his form under Mourinho as his performances in recent seasons has been all but prolific.

Potential transfer targets for The Blues

In order to retain the title again in the upcoming 2015/2016 season the current Barclays manager of the year would be hoping to utilize his core players like Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic to ensure a strong campaign next season. Also a quick start in good run-of form is also required if The Blues are hoping to hold onto their title. The addition of few players like a right winger and a strong defensive midfielder is needed.

Chelsea are having a somewhat quiet transfer window, however reports from gambling news suggest that The Blues are linked with a move to sign French and Atletico Madrid’s right winger Antoine Griezmann. Furthermore Chelsea boss would also be looking into signing a defensive midfielder to back up Matic. The back four is also another area Mourinho would be hoping to strengthen in order to defend their title.
