Can Lewandowski draw first blood?

Mexico rank much higher but Poland are still the close favorites
The Mexico v Poland matchup should prove entertaining. FIFA recently ranked Mexico the 13th and Poland the 26th best teams in the world. And to be honest, neither are in that good of a form. Mexico played three games since September and only won one. Poland’s Nations League campaign wasn’t better either as they could only secure a win against Wales in recent months. So, where do we go with the Mexico vs Poland betting tips here?
Mexico’s national squad is more experienced but the gap isn’t that big. Poland however have scored way more goals in fewer appearances. Now, the confederations differ a lot so this can’t be the only statistic to predict the outcome of the game. As for the absence, Mexico will miss key players Tecatito and Jiménez. Poland will be without Robert Gummy, who has 15 caps to his name. For the full Group C predictions, check out our World Cup betting guide.
Early estimates are very even between Mexico and Poland. Both sides have about a 35% chance to win. Given their offensive assets, we also think the total number of goals scored will be over 1.5. To state the obvious, go with Lewandowski to score at least one goal. We’re expecting Poland to win the game as well. The battle for the 2nd spot in Group C will no doubt be intense.
