Your Last Chance To Bet On The Everest This Year

As the odds at sites like Unibet shift ahead of the off we take a look at the new favorite to win this massive payday down under. It might be the new ultra-race on the calendar but all eyes are on The Everest and a field of some of the best horses in the southern hemisphere, but can Vega Magic cast a spell over it’s rivals and take the win or is there a better bet on the Everest among this premium field vying for a premium prize purse in this the first running of the new richest turf race in the world?

  • Will 7/2 favorite Vega Magic win the richest turf race in the world?
  • Can She Will Reign get a victory despite those 4/1 odds?
  • Is Chautauqua the bet each way bet on The Everest at 5/1?
  • Should you back Redzel at 13/2 to beat the field and grab the cash?

Taking it’s place as the richest turf race in the world, with both the Pegasus World Cup and Dubai World Cup which do have higher prize purses being run on dirt tracks, The Everest is set to be the new corner stone of the Sydney Spring Festival, and a highlight of the racing calendar as it draws a fabulous field from across the southern hemisphere and world. You can bet on The Everest to make Australian gambling news headlines regardless of what happens on the day, but who should you bet on?

Well the big news so close to the race is that Vega Magic has closed up hugely from an initial 16/1 at sites like Unibet to where it now garners just 7/2 and is the favorite bet on The Everest ahead of recently well tipped horses like She Will Reign and Chautauqua. Whether Vega Magic is worth those odds is a matter of opinion, it’s recent wins haven’t been on this kind of stage, nor against this sort of opposition, although it’s win in the Memsie Stakes was convincing enough riding the rail all the way home.

Will The Inaugural Everest Running See Be A Kind Of Magic?

She Will Reign still gets 4/1 at sites like Unibet and at those odds is really very tempting, especially each way, how could it not finish in the top three? Of course this also applies to Chautauqua at an even more attractive 5/1 with Redzel just behind at 13/2 rounding out the favorites. An Each way wager might not be as exciting as putting an on the nose bet on The Everest, however if you’re going to take advantage of Australian gambling laws why take unnecessary risks when a winning wager lies waiting to be picked up?

Redkirk Warrior still hovers around the 8/1 mark and most of the online bookies like Unibet give Deploy 10/1, the same odds as being given on English although if you’re going to stretch your dreams that far you may as well go for the 12/1 shot Clearly Innocent who only came third in it’s last Group 1 race at Doomben but shows good form when the going is heavy, and who’s to say it won’t be? In Her Time gets 14/1 and is perhaps a nice each way bet on The Everest, leaving some pretty long shots left.

Bet On The Everest, Richest Turf Race In The World, At Unibet

The Everest 2017

  • In Her Time – 14/1
  • Clearly Innocent – 12/1
  • English – 10/1
  • Deploy – 10/1
  • Redkirk Warrior – 8/1
  • Redzel – 13/2
  • Chautauqua – 5/1
  • She Will Reign – 4/1
  • Vega Magic – 7/2

Now I’m not going to rule out a miracle win by any of these long shots. The racing world is replete with tales of amazingly unlikely victories, although for these guys to win there would have to be a pretty dramatic turn of events. Sites like Unibet give Houtzen 25/1 to win the massive prize on offer, and if those aren’t long enough odds for your bet on The Everest and want something even more crazy why not back 33/1 Brave Smash who has the same chance of winning as Michael Bloomberg to be the next President of America.

Naturally if you’re apt to bet on sports in Australia you may well like the odd outrageous wager and if so your bet on The Everest could well satisfy that urge because there’s a couple of 50/1 shots in the gates and who can resist such a speculative punt at sites like Unibet? Tulip or Fell Swoop, the choice is yours, neither one has a hope, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a chance. The Everest is set to be a big race in the world, let’s just hope the racing lives up to the hype and the weather remains good.
