  • 2021 World Rally Championship will start in Monte Carlo in January
  • 12 races are scheduled for the season
  • Defending champion Sebastien Ogier and previous winner Ott Tanak are the favorites

The 2021 World Rally Championship will begin in January with the Monte Carlo Rally and is scheduled to finish in November. French 7-time world champion Sebastien Ogier and co-driver Julien Ingrassia won last year. They are in the favorites again in the WRC 2021 winner odds along with other previous winners.

This will be the 49th edition of the World Rally Championship. Or as everyone knows it, WRC which is the top class rally racing. 12 races are planned for this season. Starting in January with the Monte Carlo Rally and ending in Japan in November. Let’s hope all these events can be held after a much shorter last season. Teams of the three big manufacturers, Hyundai Motorsport, Toyota Gazoo Racing and M-Sport Ford are likely to compete for the title. Including defending champion Sebastien Ogier and the 2019 winner Ott Tanak. While one of the greatest drivers of the sport, 9-time world champion Sebastien Loeb left the series after joining the new Extreme E electric rally series.

WRC 2021 winner odds favor previous champions

Online sportsbooks in France offer the smallest odds, 2.75 for their local favorite, Sebastien Ogier’s victory again. He won his 7th world title finishing 8 points ahead of British Elfyn Evans. Ogier won two races out of seven last season and finished three more times on the podium. His balanced performance was enough to win the championship and become the second most successful WRC driver. Actually he planned to retire at the end of last season but decided to stay one more year to finish his career with a more memorable performance.

Let’s race!

His biggest rival can be the 2019 world champion, Estonian Ott Tanak according to the WRC 2021 winner odds. He finished third last season in the world championship, 17 points behind Ogier. The Hyundai driver produced a great recovery after his crash in Monte Carlo where he flew off a 40-metre cliff. Luckily he and his co-driver were both uninjured in the accident. After he won on home soil the Estonian Rally and finished as a runner-up three more races. Now his odds to win the world championship is also 2.75 on 22Bet.

Other main favorites

Welsh driver Elfyn Evans achieved the best result of his career last year after finishing second in the world championship. He was close to winning his first title, now online gambling sites in France offer him the odds of 5.50 to get it. Evans got two victories in 2020 at the Swedish and Turkish Rally, in Sweden he has become the first British driver to win the event. After only  finishing 29th in the last race at Monza, his chance of winning ended. Still racing for Toyota, he will have another chance to fight for the title in the new season.

Belgian Thierry Neuville is also mentioned in the favorites with the same odds, 5.50 to win the championship. He finished five times as a runner-up already and helped his manufacturer, Hyundai to win their first manufacturers’ title in 2019. Last season Neuville finished only in 4th place after two races which he couldn’t finish. One of the most experienced drivers of the field, he has 13 race wins so far with the last being the 2020 Monte Carlo Rally. Now Neuville can prove his skill again in the first race of the year.
