One of boxing’s biggest stars made headlines today after announcing his retirement, but will we see Klitschko return to boxing sometime next year?

After a professional career spanning more than two decades, Wladimir Klitschko has retired. The former heavyweight champion went undefeated from 2004 to 2015, but two tough losses to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua appears to have prompted him to hang up the gloves.

The UK gambling news that Klitschko is retiring sent shockwaves through the sports world, but some boxing betting experts are already wondering whether the absence from the sport will be for good.

Sites like NetBet Sportsbook aren’t offering odds for if Klitschko will return, but they shouldn’t stop you from pondering the idea. He’s still one of the best fighters in the world, and would likely be competitive against many of the top heavyweights competing right now.

Other fights to bet on in the meantime

It’s unclear at this point whether we’ll see Klitschko return to boxing anytime soon, but luckily for fans, there are a number of fantastic online sportsbooks in the UK offering betting odds on some upcoming fights.

Perhaps the most anticipated fight is between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. The fight will go down on August 26th, and Floyd enters as the considerable favorite with odds of 1.19, while McGregor comes in as the underdog with odds of 4.65.

The fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin is another highly anticipated fight, particularly amongst hardcore fans. Golovkin enters as the favorite with odds of 1.55, while Alvarez comes in as the underdog with odds of 2.25.
