The upcoming season in the English Premiership looks to be the most exciting in recent times, as a number of teams look to be serious contenders for the trophy.

For the past four seasons, only two teams have claimed the Premier League title. However with the dynamic nature of football, teams are looking to spice up their squads with new exciting players.

The 2014-2015 season might prove to deviate from recent tradition of awarding the title to the two Manchester clubs, as they both won two apiece. Clubs will be eyeing a chance to restore their former glory and make their fans proud. According to various sportsbooks, there are several realistic options of what team will be crowned champions.

Chelsea

• Chelsea are the favorites for the title
• Manchester City are also serious contenders
• Manchester Utd. don’t possess a fearsome team yet
• Arsenal and Liverpool are currently outsiders

When current Chelsea manager took over the helm of Real Madrid in 2010, he told “Los Blancos” president Florentino Perez that he would need two years to secure the La Liga title. As it turned out, he the Portuguese was right in his assessment.

It is no different now at Chelsea, as the self-titled “Special One” will be starting his second season with the London club. This should see him win the Premier League for the third time, since clinching the trophy in two consecutive seasons in his first spell at the club.

Chelsea have been very active in the transfer market, trying to reshape their squad ahead of what is promising to be a very demanding season. They have bought forward Diego Costa for EUR 40 million from Atletico Madrid, a player that has scored 36 overall last season.

Recently, club legend Drogba has also been welcomed back to the team, following his departure in 2012. The midfield has lost Frank Lampard, but Chelsea have brought in Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona for around EUR 33 million. Atletico also sold left-back Filipe Luis to The Blues for a fee of EUR 20 million.

With the team that they boasts and a manager that has won multiple titles, it’s safe to assume Chelsea are favorite for the Premier League title next season. Mobile betting firm BetVictor has given them odds of 2.75 (7/4) of sealing the trophy, making this bet a great investment to make.

Manchester City

Manchester City will be looking to make a successive run of trophies, after clinching the previous season’s Premier League title. They possess a star-studded squad that can put on great performances consistently throughout the season.

City also boasts a talented and experienced manager Manuel Pellegrini, who known how to deal with star players and lead a team to success. The Chilean has previously managed Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga before assuming the head position at Manchester City.

The team has brought in defensive midfielder Fernando from Porto for over EUR 15 million. Another one of Porto’s players is also among the transfer targets for the Premier League winners. French defender Mangala has been on many clubs’ shopping lists during the summer, however now it seems increasingly likely that he’ll end up at City.

Given their immense depth in the squad and their great manager, online sportsbooks in the UK rank them highly. BetVictor believes their chances of winning the title in the 2014-15 season are 3.00 (2/1).

Manchester United

Manchester United have won the Premier League a record 19 times, however they are a long way from being the fearsome team they once were. Since sacking David Moyes as the manager, the club have appointed Dutch genius Louis van Gaal to lead them to the throne once again.

United are currently in a rebuilding process, capturing the likes of Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw for a combined fee of over EUR 70 million. They are also eyeing Juventus’ Arturo Vidal, however that transfer saga might take some more time to resolve.

Although the appointment of van Gaal has been touted as a success for the club, it cannot be viewed as a precursor to their performance during next season. The club still has to get all the relevant transfer targets and see if the players can work with one another. One of the main reasons why BetVictor decided to give them odds of 6.00 (5/1) is due to van Gaal’s presence.

Other clubs

Arsenal decided to bring in some serious players to try and build on their success, following their capture of the FA Cup last season. Alexis Sanchez transferred from Barcelona for a fee of around EUR 38 million, while they have also sealed the signing of Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina.

However despite their reinforcements, the Gunners still lack depth in other areas. A serious contender for the title must have a complete team in place, therefore their chances of success are 7.5 (13/2) according to BetVictor.

By selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona for EUR 94 million, Liverpool were left with a sizeable transfer kitty to invest in new players. Manager Brendan Rodgers already bought Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Divock Origi, while additional players are in the pipeline according to gambling news.

Last season Liverpool ended second in the league, as Manchester City narrowly beat them to the title. However, not things are different, as they don’t have their talisman striker that can score 30 goals per season. BetVictor assigned them odds of 12.00 (11/1).
