Whitney Houston’s Underage Kid Allegedly Gambles in Las Vegas

There’s nothing wrong per se with gambling at a Las Vegas casino. Except that under American gambling laws, specifically those related to the State of Nevada, a gambler must be at least 21 years of age. This doesn’t surprise Americans, but would surprise a European. After all, to drink alcohol in America you need to be 21, while doing so in Europe requires the age of 18.

According to the latest news, gambling regulators in Nevada are looking into allegations that a minor gambled at one of the local casinos. It’s not that minors don’t happen to sneak into casinos, they even produce fake out-of-state IDs. Same with pub drinking. The thing is that this particular minor is allegedly the late Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, age 19.

Underage gambling in Nevada is not a serious offense. It is classified as misdemeanor and is punishable by up to six months in jail and/or $1,000 fine. The investigators are also seeking to determine if any employees at the casino were aware of the minor’s presence. Moreover, her 22-year-old boyfriend is also rumored to have been there and may be held responsible for gambling with an underage player.

When it comes to online casinos in United States, which are soon hoped to be legalized, one of the concerns is that minors may access gambling via these sites. But, after all, the modern technology can perform sufficient verifications to keep minors at bay.

The same applies to mobile casinos in USA. The questions arise, though, what will happen if the casino accepts payments via smartphone and the user happens to have a pre-paid phone? This is yet to be seen what will the mobile casino industry do.
