Let’s take a look at what may be the safest bet on Wimbledon this year, and what the odds are for the players we list to win.

The 2017 Wimbledon Championship will begin on July 3rd. The third Grand Slam tournament of the year will pit most of the best players in the world against each other, and most online sportsbooks in the UK including Bet365 have already set the odds. In this article we’ll focus on the men’s division, and list who we feel could be the safest bet on Wimbledon this year.

Roger Federer: 9/4

35 year old Roger Federer is currently ranked 5th in the world, but is coming into Wimbledon this year as the betting favorite. He’s looked great so far this year, most notably in the Australian Open which he won in a tight series with Rafael Nadal.

One of the reasons why Federer is perhaps the safest bet on Wimbledon in 2017 is because he’s already won the tournament seven times. The win at the Australian Open this year was his first Grand Slam victory since 2012, but could be a sign that he’s back to his old ways. At the moment, Bet365 lists Federer’s odds to win the 2017 Wimbledon at 9/4.

Andy Murray: 10/3

Coming in second in the 2017 Wimbledon betting odds is world number one ranked player Andy Murray. He’s not nearly demonstrating the form he did heading into the 2016 tournament, but Murray is still a safe Wimbledon bet to make, as he’s the reigning champion.

So far in 2017 Andy has won 21 contests and lost 9. He himself admits he would likely fare better had he played more this year, telling Sky Sports, “There is no guarantee that I won’t do well at Wimbledon, but it certainly would have helped to have had more matches.” At the moment, Murray’s odds to win Wimbledon this year are set at 10/3.

A wager on either of these men could be considered the safest bet on Wimbledon this year. To find the complete list of 2017 betting odds for Wimbledon, head to Bet365 today!
