The 2021 Tour de France will be the 108th edition of one the biggest cycling races amongst Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana. This year, the race will be from 26 June to 18 July as a part of the 2021 UCI World Tour. As we are getting closer to the big event, the Tour de France 2021 odds on the predicted winner get clearer. This article covers this year’s favourite cyclers, information on the route and live stream options for a full experience!

Interestingly, Tour de France 2021 was scheduled to take place outside of France. Originally, this year’s grand cycling tour was supposed to visit Denmark and start in Copenhagen, the final location will be Brest. Of course, as always, the route will be both amazing and challenging regardless of the chances. In November 2020, the general director of the Tour, Christian Prudhomme announced the route. This year’s race will be the longest since the 2000 Tour de France with a total distance of 3,383 kilometres. 23 teams are expected to participate over the 21 stages of the record-long route. Before we dive into Bet365 Sportsbook’s odds on the favourite cyclers at the 2021 Tour de France, let’s see some insight on the race.

Who are you betting on?

Tour de France 2021: The route

France and the Principality of Andorra will be on the menu of the 108th edition of the Tour. Cyclers will visit 9 regions and 31 departments. The race starts with a hilly stage from Brest to Landerneau. In total, the 2021 Tour de France route includes 8 flat stages, 5 hilly stages, and 6 mountain stages. Additionally, two individual time trials and two rest days. Of course, our main question is, how difficult is the route compared to previous years? Riders will definitely face some gruelling stages in the Pyrenees and a visit to Andorra, which will be the second day of the race. According to Cycling Weekly, organisers were probably hoping for a dramatic showdown on the last day when designing to route – and so are we. Before the race starts, find information on all the stages on the official website of the tour.

Tour de France 2021 best odds

Various online sportsbooks in the UK offer odds on the 2021 Tour de France. Bet365 Sportsbook list Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic as most likely to be the final winner. Additionally, Geraint Thomas currently has the third-best odds, yet experts suggest he should also be in the finish line.

Tadej Pogacar 2.20
Primoz Roglic 2.75
Geraint Thomas 9.00

Tadej Pogacar was a spectacular winner of the Tour last year. Now, he is the defending champion of the 2021 Tour de France, with the smallest odds. The only 22-year-old cycler is only getting better and better as the new cycling season suggested. Pogacar is competing for the famously successful UAE Team Emirates. So far, he entered two stage races this season and won both of them. Notably, Pogacar showed spectecular time, and his speed will definitely be in his favour once the race starts, especially on big climbs. After his storming victory last year, all odds suggested that he is very likely to win this season as well.

Who can attack Tadej Pogacar?

Even though we consider Tadej Pogacar the strongest cycler this year, we should not leave out some strong opponents. Fellow Slovenian, Primož Roglič, has shown some impressive legs at the start of 2021, winning three stages in Paris-Nice. Moreover, an extremely strong team will support him at the Tour, including Wout van Aert and Steven Kruijswijk. The 31-year-old currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Team Jumbo–Visma. Bet365 Sportsbook gives odds 2.75 to Primoz Roglic, making him the second most likely to win the race. Exciting!

Let’ race!

With 9.00 odds, Welshman Geraird Thomas is the third on top. At age 34, he currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers, Wales and Great Britain, competing on both track and road. Apparently, the 2021 route fits right into his style – more so than in previous years. He might be somewhat behind since last year he crashed out of the Giro d’Italia in the first week. Surely, he is not the youngest but might still have the legs to challenge the Slovenians.
