• 1. Blues – An amazing, progressive, and aggressive song that perfectly kicks in the mood for the rest of the album.
• 2. Terra – A chill song with ascending notes that push.
• 3. Holy, Holy – One of the best songs, a great parody of Andrew Tate’s personality. Jazzy, and truly theatric.
• 4. The New Sound – Just WOW. The instrumentation here is nuts.
• 5. Walk Up – Progressing from the previous song, breaking the silence feels like Geordie Greep is getting into character.
• 6. Through a War – It’s an amazing and romantic song, even poetic that will show us the theme of the album from this song.
• 7. Bongo Season – The only song we believe is better performed live. Yet, fans mention “brat summer ended, Bongo season started”.
• 8. Motorbike – Seth Evans gives an amazing voice to the depressing yet hasty song. It feels like leaving through the window at night in a rush of lust. Amazing!
• 9. As if Waltz – A song about falling in love with a sex worker. Promising the most beautiful and magical songs, but just for an hour.
• 10. The Magician – The question of what is the existence of the protagonist. It’s an 11-minute-long song that feels like 2 minutes because it’s just so good. A highlight.
• 11. If You Are But A Dream – Hot take, but we think the album should have ended with The Magician. Yet, it’s just good. Feels like drinking a glass of Sprite after a heavier meal. It’s good to get all these tensions released.

Energetic, Artistic, Theatrical

So far, The New Sound review has been praising Greep. Don’t worry, this will not stop here. In conclusion, we believe that this album is everything that it can be. In fact, on the Bandcamp page, they highlighted the main influences for the album: Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa, and Scott Walker. Essentially, he is truly the embodiment of Vegas, even if he is from the UK. According to The Needle Drop, there are at least 5 different influences, all from different places and times. Truly a progressive masterpiece.

It has the theatrical energy of Frank Sinatra, the guitar skill of Frank Zappa, and believe it or not, but we’d say that the energy of a modern K-POP artist. Simply something we wouldn’t expect from such an artist. The greatest influence is Brazilian tropicalia, which he managed to mix in with the rock sound. We agree with Fantano and give this album a solid 9/10.

The Album Cover – The New Sound Review

Finally, let us talk about the album cover. The concept of the album is the following:

• The first half introduces a tough character that is Geordie’s reflection on people such as Andrew Tate and probably many other influencers of his attitude.
• He mixes in his insecurities to reflect on them when he speaks to the character. The first part of the music is about a man who hides his insecurities with fake pride.
• Then this character starts mixing in with Greep’s own experience in life.
• Soon, the theme switches to him falling in love with a sex worker. Yet, it also surfaces many other issues surrounding the topic. None has to do anything with the sex worker herself. Rather, his insecurities, his shame for on cheating his wife, and his, hiding from himself.

What is the best way to portray this, than with an album that’s about a running woman of free-life kissing while beheading a man in a suit? Next to him, is a woman in a suit, who has blood splashing over her, reflecting on how he prefers the unknown, and quick thrills, and this ruins his development for a matching relationship.
