The Most Famous Vegan Athletes

More and more bodybuilders are starting to live a vegan lifestyle. This is good news because bodybuilders need to consume large amounts of food. People often think a bodybuilder can’t be vegan, but Nimai Delgado is a living, breathing example. He is an American professional bodybuilder and vegan athlete.

Believe it or not, Nimai was a vegetarian his whole life, but in 2015 he switched to a 100% vegan diet. His journey started simply as a personal mission to stay healthy but has now grown into a movement to let people know that it is possible to gain muscle through an entirely plant-based diet.

Nimai uses social media to spread the message about the vegan lifestyle as widely as possible. He has become passionate about this lifestyle and aims to be a leader in the trend and set an example for those who want to try the vegan lifestyle but are too concerned about losing weight, getting enough protein, or staying healthy.

Skeptics of the vegan lifestyle often say something sarcastic when they see Nimai’s sculpted body and results. However, we must inform these people that he does not use anything illegal.

He has participated in world competitions like USA Championships, Grand Prix Championships, and Fresno Classic, which require very strict and mandatory tests. Over the years, it would have come to light if there was any cheating on his part. The vegetarian turned vegan bodybuilder, who appeared on the cover of Men’s Health a few years ago, never ate meat in his life, and until his retirement, he was able to claim several IFBB Men’s Physique championships.

Nate Diaz is a Surprise!

Who would have thought that a successful UFC fighter could be vegan? Nate Diaz, who started following a raw plant-based diet at the age of 18, became the center of attention in combat sports when he scored an unexpected victory over Conor McGregor in a UFC welterweight bout in 2016. Diaz lives on a plant-based, mainly raw diet during training and claims this significantly improves his well-being and performance.

In a 2016 interview, he stated that sometimes he eats a little egg or fish but tries to avoid these as well. However, when he’s preparing for games, Diaz follows a raw vegan diet. As of December 2018, he held the Guinness World Record for most significant strikes in a game with 238 in a 15-minute, three-inning game. Now that his UFC contract ended, check out what he is up to at 888sport!

Everyone must have heard of the tennis champion sisters, but did you know they are among the most famous vegan athletes too? They currently hold several world records, not only in the women’s category but also overall. Venus was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2001, and as a result, she switched to a raw plant diet, and her sister soon followed. Although they have since incorporated cooked food into their diet, both of them follow a plant-based diet to this day.

Serena Williams currently holds the following world records: most Grand Slam singles wins: 23, 25 Guinness World Records, most tennis Grand Slam singles match won, female: 367, etc.

Her sister, Venus, holds the following world records: most Grand Slam singles appearances: 73, the most Olympic gold medals won in tennis: 3, shared with Serena, the most won Olympic women’s doubles shared with Serena and Reginald Doherty.
