Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts Limited, is reportedly in negotiations to bring the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas

Two years ago the idea of the Oakland Raiders moving to Las Vegas seemed impossible. There were so many hurdles in the way that almost no one considered it a real possibility. It is beginning to look more realistic than ever, as one of Las Vegas’ most influential businessmen is reportedly campaigning to big the team to sin city.

Steve Wynn has a current net worth of about $2.7 billion dollars. If anyone can pull some strings in Las Vegas, it’s him. He owns a number of hotels and casinos in the city, and oversaw the construction of the Bellagio, which at the time was the most expensive hotel to build in the world.

Wynn recently talked to TMZ news about his optimism in bringing the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas. “I’m really, really working hard to make sure that can happen. I’m really a big booster. I think having the Raiders in Las Vegas is the perfect thing to complement the city and to give everyone another excuse to come to Las Vegas.” He said.

Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis is Open to the Idea

Mark Davis made US gambling news in May when he offered to pay $500 million of his own money to help build a new stadium for the Raiders to play in Vegas. That stadium was estimated to be worth $1.4 billion, and would likely take three years to complete.

Even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was opened to the idea, which goes to show you it is not impossible. With Steve Winn pushing hard to bring the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas, it seems more likely than ever.
