A new Spanish online gambling operator body has been established to assist the country’s industry.
There’s a new gambling operator association in Spain called “Empresarios de Juego Online Asociados” (EJOA). It has been created to represent the interests of land-based and online operators alike.
The body operates in full compliance with Spanish gambling laws and is licensed by DGOJ to provide assistance to land-based casinos, bingo halls, and recreational gambling establishments, as well as online operators.
The firs president of EJOA will be Eduardo Antoja of the CIRSA Group, while Luis Miguel Cabeza de Vaca of Codere Group will be the vice-president. Both groups represent serious force on the Spanish online gambling arena and operate a wealth of online casinos in Spain.
According to Spain gambling news, the association’s founding members are Top Rank Egasa Spain and Acrismatic Group. The body was established to “maximize synergies between the two channels of game management, improved regulations and their harmonization.”
Representatives of the body revealed that there are five additional major business groups contemplating joining the organization.
President of “la asociacion espanola de juego digital” or JDIGITAL, which was formerly AEDAPI, Sacha Michaud, commented: “I know little of this association. But in any case consider this a positive initiative.”
He went on to add: “JDIGITAL is not an association of operators, it brings together companies involved in e-commerce. That is, technology firms, payment methods, etc. The founding of EJOA does not weaken JDIGITAL. Participation in both is supported.”
