Whilst the New England Patriots came back from the dead against the Atlanta Falcons to win a stunning Super Bowl victory, those of us that prefer to bet on sports in UK and not the US were busy pouring over the first round results from the Six Nations betting that first impressions are likely to be lasting impression in a tournament not known for its mercy. So just who did look like Six Nations winners, and who should we avoid backing on Bet365 in round two?

Italy vs Ireland

• Sat 11th Feb
• Stadio Olimpico
• Ireland – 1/25
• Italy – 12/1
• Draw – 50/1

Six Nations betting always gets a bit busy after the first games are over and we see which of the teams has managed to carry over or improve their performance from the autumn, and with some interesting results on the board Bet365 should see a steady flow of punters taking advantage of their books on the next round of matches this weekend. More than a few of them likely to be backing Scotland who had a blinder of a first game against the Ireland side at Murrayfield coming away with a 27-22 victory.

Wales vs England

• Sat 11th Feb
• Principality Stadium
• England – 1/2
• Wales – 15/8
• Draw – 20/1

Ahead at half-time 21-8 Scotland might have slipped a bit in the second half but their win puts the cat among the pigeons as Ireland were heavily tipped to be this year’s side to beat along with England. Superb kicking from Laidlaw, with tries from Hogg and Dunbar got Scotland the win far more convincingly perhaps than that England who may have come away victorious against France but perhaps not left too many Six Nations betting fans thinking of backing them to win the tournament.

Scotland’s Shock Win Shake Up Bet365 Six Nations Betting Odds

England left it late to seal their 19-16 win, the sure footed Farrell keeping them in it, but if their performance was woeful by their usual standards one has to feel a little sorry for the team from Italy who were up before the half, 7-3, and still lost 33-7 to a Wales side that have to face England next. Naturally no one is doing much Six Nations betting on Italy, and they’re up against Ireland this weekend and the boys from the emerald isle will be out for a reassuringly massive victory.

France vs Scotland

• Sun 12th Feb
• Stade de France
• France – 2/5
• Scotland – 9/4
• Draw – 22/1

The Italy side host Ireland in the next game and it might not tempt too many to take advantage of UK gambling laws, Bet365 offering a dour 1/25 on the Irish winning and a frankly insultingly short 12/1 on Italy managing to overcome them, that loss to Scotland has shaken the bookies’ faith methinks. Of course you could bet on a draw between the two sides at 50/1 but just how insane would you have to be? So perhaps then some more interesting Six Nations betting is to be had on the other two games.

Can England Get A Win In Cardiff This Time?

England travel up the M4 to Wales for their next game and that poses a few issues for the English who have won on only two of their last seven visits to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and Eddie Jones will be hoping to break that run of bad results, not the only coach now in the Six Nations betting they can do better in round two than they did in round one. Bet365 seem to think they will, giving them 1/2 to win over Wales who get just 15/8 and a draw only 20/1. Of course it’s Scotland everyone’s watching.

Scotland beating Ireland last weekend explains why their visit to Paris this weekend is the closest in terms of Six Nations betting odds, France gets 2/5 but Scotland get a fair 9/4 and that’ll be the one to keep an eye on because anyone in the UK gambling news headlines on Monday’s back pages will be of an Italian win, or even and England loss, will definitely be counting on a Scottish win in the second round of the Six Nations perhaps justifying a wager at Bet365  on the 10/1 shot they’ll win the competition.
