Bullet in the head as a motivation to be a better person
Running a Marathon with a bullet in the head is a thing that actually happened. If we search our basement where we keep all the Times magazines from the last 50 years we can easily find this story at 1968,11,12. Maybe the chances of winning the lottery are seemingly pretty high if you are not using some methods which require huge investments. Reality always produces the strangest things. For example, there was a football player who got hit by lightning. Anyway, this story is about a man who got a headshot while running the Marathon. Luckily he was able to finish the race with a bullet in the head.
Dennis Rainear was a 26-year-old runner and he was finishing the Grand Valley Marathon of Michigan with a bullet in the head. The odds were in favor of Rainear. The headshot from the .22 caliber gun was coming in such a lucky direction, that the bullet flattened against Rainear’s skull and stayed in Rainear’s head but didn’t cause any hard damages. This thing almost made the marathon to be biathlon. Through online sportsbooks sites in the UK, you can make bets on these games.
There was no blood just an ostrich egg size hunk
After about 16kms in the game, Rainear felt a sudden hit on his head and felt to the ground. He said he didn’t know what did hit him but from the size of the impact, he was thinking it must something of a size of a brick. Since the hunk on his head didn’t bleed he got up from the ground and continued the Marathon as a true sportsman.
Before this race, the best time of Rainear on a marathon was 3 hours and 31 seconds. When he got the headshot he was still under the time limit to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Running with a bullet in his head he managed to finish with his best time, 3 hours and 9 minutes. He was saying that the further he was running after the headshot the more he was dizzy and feeling groggy. Sometimes he was trying to walk to ease the pain, but it was just getting worse so he was just running instead.
Running your best time with a bullet in the head
After finishing the marathon with his best time until that point, he wasn’t happy since he didn’t go under 3 hours. After eating a hot-dog he was going to a hospital since the pain didn’t stop. They were removing the bullet from his head. The pain was easing quickly, not like the disappointment of falling above 3 hours due to the headshot. Luckily for the Bulletman, after his story was going viral the organizers of the Boston Marathon were deciding to take an exception and let him run. And it was a good decision to put their faith in Rainear, the story of the Bulletman just starts here.
Running with a bullet in the head is a good motivation
The Bullet Man was already running on the next day after his hed was bullet free. He was preparing very seriously for the Boston Marathon. Ha was starting the race with a T-shirt saying, Bullet Man. He was running with this nick-name for a few years but then he gave it up. I mean he was giving up his nickname and not his running. He was running 6 ultramarathons 21 marathons and he was always finishing. He was saying that after finishing the marathon with a bullet in his head quitting could never be an option. What kind of excuse could he possibly come up with? That he got tired or sore?
We don’t know who made the shot
While the bullet was treated as a piece of police evidence, the cops couldn’t go too far with it. All we can know is guessing. Facts are that the bullet was coming from a poorly maintained gun. Or possibly the gun had a silencer on it. It is also a presumption that it is a stray shot from a hunter. All an all, we can conclude that getting a headshot made Rainear a professional sportsman. Through online sportsbooks in the Uk, you can make bets on Marathon or Biathlon races aswell. But be careful, a player shot in the head can always ruin your chances.
