Major MMA news has just been broken that former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey returns to the octagon to fight at UFC 207.

It’s been nearly a year since Ronda Rousey last fought inside the UFC octagon. Before that fight, she was considered to be the most dangerous female fighter on the planet. “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey went undefeated over her first 12 professional fights, with only one of her opponents coming out of the first round.

And then, as the story goes, she was matched up with Holly Holm. Most MMA analysts knew Holm presented some stylist problems for Rousey, but the general consensus from MMA betting sites like Bovada was that Rousey would be too much, too soon for the former boxing champion. Things took a different turn however, and Ronda ended up on the wrong side of one of the most devastating knockouts in UFC history.

Since that fight, speculation has been rampant as to when Rousey would return. Would she immediately fight for the belt? Should she take a tune-up fight? It seemed like every single rumor that could be thought up became US gambling news at some point. Ronda Rousey pregnant, some were saying, Rousey is focusing on acting, others would claim. Finally, the rumors can be put to rest. Ronda Rousey returns to the Octagon, per UFC.com.

Who Will Rousey be Facing in her Return?

Forget the talk of taking a tune-up fight. Ronda Rousey will be immediately challenging for the bantamweight title upon her return. Across the cage from her will be Amanda Nunes, fresh off her first round destruction of veteran fighter Miesha Tate.

Nunes captured the title last July at the historic UFC 200. Despite almost all online sportsbooks in the US placing her as the massive underdog against Tate, Nunes came out like she had something to prove and finished the champion with a rear-naked choke.

By the time Ronda Rousey returns in December, the entire world will be watching. No fighter in history broke into the mainstream more than Ronda. She was featured in commercials, TV shows, even major Hollywood blockbuster films. In just 4 years as a fighter, she became a superstar. Now, she has the chance to erase the image of her last loss, and regain her position as the most dangerous female alive.
