Legalized MLB betting in the US may soon become a reality after Rob Manfred stated he would be open to discuss the topic.

For many years the only US state which allows legalized MLB betting has been Nevada. A number of other states have recently introduced legislation to allow sports gambling, but it remains to be seen whether they can actually pass new laws.

Now, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has made US gambling news after telling the media he would be willing to talk about legal baseball betting. Unlike many other major sports league commissioners stating sports betting is a bad thing, Manfred appears to see the positive aspects of this exciting form of gambling.

Manfred is allegedly in talks with various MLB franchise owners about the possibility of MLB betting legislation, though no word has come out yet on the general opinion.

“We’ve begun a conversation educating people about what’s out there, what sports leagues in other countries have done, in an effort to make sure Major League Baseball is ready to join in what I think is going to be a dialogue about how sports gambling regulation in the US should be changed,” Manfed told Yahoo Finance.

Where can I bet on the MLB online?

The situation regarding online sportsbooks in the US is not much different than land-based sports wagering. To date, only a few states allow online sports betting, but many are in the process of introducing legislation.

There are a few forms of legalized MLB betting online that US players can access. Intertops accepts players in the United States, and offers a wide range of fantastic betting odds for players.

Do Rob Manfred’s comments mean legalized MLB betting will soon be available throughout the US? Tell us what you think in the comment section below, and make sure to check out Intertops for a full list of fantastic 2017 MLB betting odds.
