Raúl’s professional career started in the season 1994-95. He was home-grown player of Real Madrid and made his debut for the first team being only a 17 years old youngster. He spent 16 years at the Royal Club, won 6 La Liga and 3 Champions League titles among many others. Then in 2010, he left Real Madrid and joined Schalke 04 where he became favourite player of the German supporters as well as the Spanish football fans. In addition, when he signed his contract with New York Cosmos, one of the clauses stated that he will be able to gain full control over the American team’s youth system upon his retirement. We will soon find out what his next step will be, until then, football world can sadly say goodbye to another retired legendary footballer.
