Pierre Neuville Shows Age is no Obstacle by Continuing Impressive Run with Poker

Despite being 71 years old, Pierre Neuville shines at the poker tournaments collecting thousands of dollars in prize money along the way.

Neuville has been playing his favorite card for over five decades now, starting in local Belgian poker rooms and later turning pro. By the look of it he doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon.

The Belgian native started his successful run nearly two months ago when the 45th edition of World Series of Poker commenced at Las Vegas. Although he was slightly late to the competition, he managed to earn a tidy sum pretty quickly.

He amassed $1,500 on June 9th, as he clinched the 139th spot at the No-Limit Hold’em event. Following his initial success, he went on to record the biggest win of his life so far. Neuville finished second just behind the WPT Champion Kevin Eyster in an intense $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Six Handed event.

Massive earnings for the Belgian pro

Gambling news reports that the second spot finish earned him a staggering $385,041, marking his greatest pot win throughout his fifty year career in the game. Later on he continued the momentum by winning in six other events at the WSOP. Overall, once he left Vegas his bank balance amounted to a massive $420,000 and change in prize money.

Once he got back to Belgium he didn’t even consider resting for a minute, as he signed up to play in the WPT National Brussels Summer Poker Challenge. The tournament brought him some more “pocket-change” of EUR 11,600.
