This Thursday the House of Gaming Oversight Committee scheduled a hearing for the Pennsylvania online gambling bill, HB 392.
Online gambling in Pennsylvania may soon become reality as an iGaming bill – HB 392 – is proceeding in the House of Gaming Oversight Committee. The bill’s prime sponsor is Representative George Dunbar, who’s a member of the house since 2011, and also assigned to the finance, commerce, and appropriations committees. HB 392 would amend the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statues to legalize online gambling in Pennsylvania. Previously, there have been many attempts to allow iGaming in the states but all of them failed. The current Pennsylvania online gambling will proposes a $8 million general fee and a $2 million license fee. Furthermore, it would introduce a 14% tax rate on the operators gross revenue. According to US gambling news, online gambling in Pennsylvania could generate $100 million in the first year.
