The first tribe-run internet gambling site in the state of New Jersey went live this week, but only as a
test site for now.
Lawmakers may have put the issue of internet gambling in the US on hold for now, but New Jersey is
not giving up on its online casino market. The state just got a new service up and running this week –
PalaCasino – the first tribe-run virtual gambling service, operated by the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
The tribe runs a land-based casino in San Diego County, California, but wanted to expand its operations
online. But at present, American gambling laws only allow internet gambling in three states and
California is not among them. That is why the tribe signed an agreement with Borgata, a New Jersey
company licensed to offer gambling services online.
After a few days of testing, the service should be fully available at the beginning of next week, once the
New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement gives its approval.
Daily free spins on slot games
The PalaCasino website will offer more than 90 games. A daily free spin on a selected slot game will be
part of the package.
Jeremy Clemons, chief marketing officer of Pala Interactive said: “Our launch in New Jersey is a huge
step for the company, and we want to make sure we’re rolling out one of the best, most user-friendly
casino experience on the market. We value the input we’ll receive from our beta testers and look forward
to getting our beta launch test program running.”
In the first quarter of 2015, the company plans to add a poker site to its portfolio of online services.
