Early Super Bowl predictions - These are the five best teams
In this article, we’ll list the favorites to win the Super Bowl, in descending order. The odds were calculated on data based on the games in September. Furthermore, this list will only include the teams whose odds to win the Super Bowl are below +1000. These are our early predictions for the Super Bowl, consisting of the five favorite teams to win the trophy.
The Super Bowl might be a good few months away but it’s never too early to put out some predictions. As of Week 4, the picture about the playoffs isn’t clear at all. There have been many surprises so far but a lot can change until February. The odds and predictions were done by considering last season’s performances, this season’s performance of each favorite as of Week 3, and transactions made since last year’s Super Bowl.
The Buffalo Bills Stand Alone at the Top
The Bills finished last season with an 11-6 record, clinching a playoff spot and their division as well. They were ranked 3rd in the AFC, and 8th in the league overall. They demolished the Patriots in the Wild Card game but were eliminated in the Division Playoffs by the Chiefs in overtime. This was also a flashback to the 2020 Playoffs when Kansas also stopped Buffalo from advancing. However, in recent years the Bills handed in great performances, and their chances of making the playoffs this season are high.
As for transactions, the Bills made a lot of notable moves. Some of these include giving contract extensions to Stefon Diggs and Mitch Morse. They also picked up Von Miller on a 6-year $120 million contract. Isaiah McKenzie and Siran Neal are among those who re-signed on more notable contracts. The Bills also made sure to re-sign many of last season’s players on one-year deals. Online sportsbook news in the US praised Buffalo for their offseason moves, saying that they have all the right pieces. They’re the favorites to win Super Bowl LVII with odds of +450.
Kansas City Chiefs Always Make a Strong Case in the Early Super Bowl Predictions
The Chiefs were eliminated from last season’s Conference Championship in probably the most entertaining game of the playoffs. Kansas City has been one of the best playoff teams in recent years. In the past three years, they’ve reached the Super Bowl twice and won it in 2019. Their odds are always good whether it’s the Preseason or halfway through December. On Bet Online, they’re the second favorites to win the Super Bowl this year, with odds of +800.
After three weeks into the season, the Chiefs are 2-1 and 2nd in the AFC West. They haven’t made any huge transactions in the offseason but they did acquire some important pieces. Most notably, the Chiefs signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Frank Clark, and Justin Reid. The team also took a gamble by signing Corey Coleman who hasn’t played an NFL game since 2018. We think the Chiefs have a great chance of making the playoffs again and possibly reaching the Super Bowl too.
The Eagles are Flying High This Year, But Can They Stay in the Clouds?
The Eagles are the most surprising pick in our early Super Bowl predictions. After finishing 9-8 last season and being eliminated in the Wild Card game, Philadelphia turned around a lot of things. After three weeks into the 2021-2022 season, the Eagles and Dolphins are the only teams with perfect 3-0 records. To be honest, they didn’t face any top-seeded teams or Super Bowl favorites, but the feat is impressive nevertheless. So what changed in Philadelphia?
First of all, acquiring A.J. Brown from the Titans was the Eagle’s best off-season move. The receiver played a great part in the team’s three victories so far. They also added Zach Pascal to the attacking line and brought back Greg Ward as a backup. Haason Reddick is another new addition to watch out for. Online sportsbook sites in the US are predicting the linebacker to finish the season with over 40 tackles and 8 sacks. Philly is looking nice this season and we’re eager to see how far they can take this thing.
Brady and the Bucs are Running It Back This Year
Remember when Brady announced his retirement earlier this year? The Bucs’ Super Bowl odds plummeted to the bottom end of the league. Yeah, that was until the veteran quarterback decided to come back. Now, the early Super Bowl predictions have the Bucs as the 4th favorite with odds of +900.
While TB12 is not the only reason for the increase in these odds, he’s the most influential factor. Tampa returned to the playoffs scene two seasons ago, when a certain quarterback arrived. And one Super Bowl in two years is an impressive achievement.
The Bucks re-signed Leonard Fournette, Carlton Davis, and Ryan Jensen among others. They also kept Chris Godwin and picked up Julio Jones for only $6 million. And to be honest, we haven’t ruled out a return from Gronk either. The Chiefs are off to a good start, having lost only to Green Bay by two points so far. Early Super Bowl predictions favor them for a reason. If you’re backing Tampa Bay this season, check out our article on how to bet on the Super Bowl in the US.
Where does Green Bay Stand in the Early Super Bowl Predictions?
The Packers had the best regular season record last year with 13-4. For the past three seasons, and most of the 2010s, they were one of the best regular season teams, only to disappoint in the playoffs. Last year they were knocked out by the 49ers in a low-scoring game that received tons of criticism. But just like before or during every season, early Super Bowl predictions have the Packers among the favorites. On Bet Online their odds to go all the way are +950, making them the last team whose odds are better than +1000.
Rodgers received a huge extension along with Preston Smith and Jaire Alexander. The new contracts of De’Vondre Campbell and Rasul Douglas are among the more notable offseason moves as well. On paper, the Packers didn’t change much. And three games aren’t enough to decide whether or not they improved from last season. We believe they can make the playoffs again but reaching the Super Bowl seems a bit unlikely.
