English football club Tottenham and British online gambling destination Betfred have reached a sponsorship agreement.
Renowned online sportsbook Betfred operating in full compliance with British gambling laws signed a sponsorship deal with Tottenham Hotspur football club. The agreement is to span over three years and will offer the sportsbook exclusive branding rights to Tottenham’s digital, online, mobile and social media platforms.
Tottenham finished 4th in the English Premier League last season guaranteeing a place in the group stage of the upcoming Europa League competition. The team only missed out on the Champions League spot because Chelsea (which placed 6th in the Premier League) won the Champions League and acquired a group stage place for next season.
Thanks to Tottenham participation in both domestic and European leagues, one of the best online sportsbooks in United Kingdom Betfred can count on wide media exposure. Additionally, Tottenham proved to be a tough opponent for the British big four, which adds extra excitement to the side’s matches against the giant teams.
Betfred Commercial Director, Rakesh Chablani, told United Kingdom gambling news: “Tottenham Hotspur is a massive, globally recognized brand and I’m very confident our newly established partnership with them will reap huge rewards for our business.”
Head of global partnerships at Tottenham Hotspur, Tracey Keenan, also commented the deal: “We are looking forward to working in partnership over the course of the next three years to deliver a number of exciting and engaging consumer campaigns, which will help drive Betfred’s UK business.”
Tottenham is not the only British club to sign gambling sponsorships in recent time. Liverpool FC reached two agreements: with Paddy Power UK, Ireland, and Italy; and another one with 118Bet for the rest of the globe.
Tottenham’s first match in the new season is scheduled for today against Newcastle, while Liverpool will take on West Brom also today.
