How to play bossaball?
To be able to play bossaball in Spain, or anywhere else in the world, you will have kind of a difficult task buying the necessary equipment. You will need a trampoline of 2 sides, which is split in half with a net. The net’s height shall be adjusted to the players’ heights, whether they are men, women or children.
If you need more information about what ball is used in bossaball, we are happy to help you out with this piece of information: a simple volleyball will be perfectly fine as the bossaball itself is really similar to a volleyball. You will obviously need this to be able to play the spectacular game of bossaball.
Upon having the basic bossaball equipment, you will need to form teams. Each team consists of 4 or 5 players, depending on the tournament. These players will take up a formation and rotate clockwise at every points, so that everyone plays in all positions.
What are the basic rules of bossaball?
Bossaball rules are relatively easy: like in all other sports, here too whichever team scores the more points, wins. Depending on the game, the teams can play up to best of 3 or best of 5 games. One game goes until 25 points except if it is at 24-24. Then one of the teams has to win by at least 2 points.
Teams can collect 1, 3 or 5 points in one hit. It can be because of their incredible skills or because of a mistake by the opponent. The team gets 5 points when the ball is played directly in the opponent’s trampoline area with a soccer touch, meaning without using hands. 3 points are given when the ball hits the opponent’s playing area with a soccer touch.
Similar rules apply to volley touches, but fewer points are given for those: when the ball hits the opponent’s playing area after a volley touch, the team gets 1 point, and if it is played directly to their trampoline area, it means 3 points for the attacking team. Before attacking, each team has a chance to touch the ball 5 times, but the last one must be a touch towards scoring.
