Brazilian superstar Neymar has attracted a great deal of interest from both Spain and England, but PSG CEO remains adamant the striker will remain at the club next season, according to online sportsbook news.
The Parisians are not looking to sell Neymar anytime soon
PSG didn’t go through all the trouble of getting him, just to let him go a year after his world-record deal of €222 million. They brought him in to shape the whole squad and club all around him to lead them to Champions League glory – something that they’ve failed to do so again this year.
The club’s CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi – the man viewed as being one of the main actors behind Neymar’s world-record move – has once again vehemently denied reports linking Neymar with a move away from Parc des Princes..
“Who has said Neymar will not be staying? Has somebody said that? Nobody,” stressed the CEO, when speaking to the French media. “Neymar has a contract with us – he will 2,000 percent be here next season. I am sure. Neymar wants to stay. The Spanish press are for the Spanish clubs. You (the French press)… that is a question mark.”
As regards to the imminent sacking of their manager Unai Emery – who joined the club merely two years ago – Al-Khelaifi responded they will announce the news soon, but warned the media about they will do so on their own terms, not on the ones that the press like to play.
“We will name our new coach (on Sunday) or next week. I will not tell you right now. You play with us, so we will play with you,” said PSG’s CEO, who will let go of Emery despite the club winning Ligue 1 this season. But that’s viewed as a “standard” and automatic trophy, which falls shorts of their Champions League ambitions.
Will Neymar be fit on time for the 2018 World Cup in Russia?
The 26-year-old has performed brilliantly for the club from the French capital, until his untimely injury happened against league rivals Olympique Marseille which ruled him out for the remainder of the season. Until that point, Neymar has appeared in 30 games overall, scoring an impressive 28 goals in the process, which makes it a ratio of nearly a goal per game, per online sportsbooks in Brazil.
If it weren’t for the unfortunate injury that immediately put doubts about his 2018 World Cup in Russia prospects, he would probably have gone on to find the back of the net around 40 times across all competitions. But more importantly, it may affect his performances for Brazil in the upcoming World Cup.
His rehabilitation is still underway and he probably has the best doctors around to help him with his recovery, but we’re not sure how that will pan out in time for the most watched football tournament on the planet. Neymar’s fitness levels may come into question if he fails to make a full recovery as the 2018 World Cup kicks off pretty soon, with Russia v Saudi Arabia match set to be played on June 14 (H 1.28 (7/25) D 4.75 (15/4) A 13.00 (12/1)) – per Bet365 Sportsbook.
