New Slots from GameAccount for Sisal As it Expands Italian Online Offering

Sisal, the Italian lottery and sports betting operator, has announced a deal with online gaming systems and software provider, GameAccount Network, to release a suite of slot games. Sisal already runs an online casino in Italy in Italy, providing slots, poker, blackjack and roulette, amongst others, to gamblers from Italy.

The news comes after a period of confusion, as the Italian government passed a notion that effectively banned online gambling for a year. With Italian gambling laws awarding licenses to operators for 9 year periods, this new change could prove difficult to enact, which is exactly the thoughts of the Italian finance ministry, who declared the motion unworkable.

With companies likely to ignore this law and keep to their previous license agreements, therefore, Sisal’s new selection of slots could give it an upper hand over competitors. The multi-year agreement will allow Sisal’s customers access to GameAccount’s array of third party slots, currently delivered through their own internet gaming system.

Indeed, Sisal hope this piece of gambling news will give them a competitive edge. Marco Tiso, Sisal’s digital games business manager, commented: “Thanks to this strategic partnership we can offer our customers many slots titles familiar to visitors of land-based points of sales and casinos, creating one of the richest online slot offer in Italy.”

With gambling likely to continue as if nothing has happened in Italy, other operators are likely to follow Sisal’s lead in collecting a wider selection of slots and casino games for their players.

The motion banning online gambling was originally put forward by Lega Nord, but Senators apparently did not read the suggestions fully, as it seems they were under the impression the motion merely wanted to prevent the issuance of further online gambling licenses. For now, though, everyone should just keep their eyes peeled for further news from Italy: the last thing European gambling needs right now is more confusion.
