New Jersey Records Online Gambling Growth in August

Probably to the dismay of Atlantic City casinos, it has been revealed that online gambling growth in New Jersey increased during the month of August

New Jersey’s decision to legalize and regulate online gambling was seen as a slap in the face to many of the country’s casinos, but it appears that decision could be bringing in significant tax money, as the state just made US gambling news by recording significant online gambling growth during the month of August.

The internet gambling win brought in during August is said to have been $16.1 million, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, which represents a 31.6% increase from last August. Land-based casinos reported to have brought in $229.8 million, 6.7% less than last year.

In total, the gambling industry in New Jersey brought in $245.9 million for the entire month. That includes bingo online for money USA gambling, as well as sports betting, online casinos, and internet poker in the US.

What does most of the online gambling growth come from?

The reports from the NJDGE do not specifically mention what form of online gambling brought in the most revenue during August, but it seems likely that online sportsbooks in the US such as GTBets were major cash grabbers for the month.
