California’s Pala Band of Mission Indians become the first native americans to own a online

casino with help of partner company Borgata.

Despite the regulatory and compliance requirements that online operators face in New Jersey under

American gambling laws, California’s Pala Band of Mission Indians successfully launched the online site Pala

Casino. The endeavor comes a year after online gambling was legalized in New Jersey.

Pala Casino is jointly owned by the California’s Pala Band of Mission Indians and the Atlantic City-
based Borgata Hotel & Spa last week. The company boasts over 90 online games available for players

with different tastes.

Pala Casino started betting operations last Saturday. The Pala Interactive gambling arm for the

Indian tribe hopes to also launch a free online poker site within the first three months of 2015.

A Peek into the Pala Success Story

The chief executive of Pala Interactive, Jim Ryan, stated that this was the perfect timing to launch its

online gambling business in New Jersey. And indeed it seemed so since its mobile betting started on

Saturday even though the marketing operation hadn’t yet begun.

Ryan affirms that the California’s Pala Band of Mission Indians would focus on ‘the player journey,

issues related to geolocation, the sign up process so that it is more engaging for the player’ to ensure

its success. This affirmation comes at a time when other operators are having difficulties staying

afloat in the competitive world of online gambling operations in New Jersey.

Pala is confident that it can withstand the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s procedures.
