Jose Mourinho announced that banned Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro might return into her matchday position in the future.
The Blues’ manager revealed that Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro and team physio Jon Fearn won’t feature this weekend. Chelsea will travel to Manchester to play against City. The Sunday outing could be one of the most important matches of the season, according to many of those, who bet on sports in the UK. Mourinho also stated that Carneiro and Fearn might return to the matchday staff.
Mourinho made the announcement in his Friday press conference. He said, “Dr Jon Fearn and Dr Eva Carneiro will not be on the bench but doesn’t mean for the rest of the season. My decision does not mean they won’t be on the bench in the future. If you want to speak to me about football, I’m here. If you want to ask about other things, I’m not here.” This comes after leading sports physicians criticized Mourinho for banning Carneiro from his squad.
Chelsea doctor only did his job
The Portuguese expelled the Chelsea doctor from the bench because she entered the pitch in the closing minutes of the 2-2 draw against Swansea to treat Eden Hazard, stunning many of those, who gamble online. The Belgian player went down, seemingly injured after a challenge. However, Mourinho thought that Hazard only needed a rest. With Thibaut Courtois being sent off earlier, Chelsea was left eight players temporarily, as Hazard had to come down after the treatment. Mourinho argued that the Chelsea doctor should understand the game better.
