The inaugural season of the LIV Golf series continues in Bangkok this week, between 6-9 October at the Stonehill Golf Course. Dustin Johnson leads the individual points standings at the moment ahead of Branden Grace and Cameron Smith. Smith and Johnson are mentioned among the top favorites in the LIV Golf Bangkok odds. Along with one of the biggest talents of the sport, Joaquin Niemann.
The new golf series, the LIV Golf Invitational series will have its sixth stop this weekend in the capital of Thailand, Bangkok. As we mentioned earlier, the organization of the new, Saudi-backed series received lots of criticism. From civil rights groups to the PGA Tour, which banned LIV Golf players from taking part in tour events or in the Presidents Cup. Still, more and more top players have joined the series, including former world number ones: Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, and Lee Westwood.
But Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Phil Mickelson are also LIV Golf players now. One of the most recent players to join in was the world No2, Cameron Smith who won the last event in Chicago. 48 players will compete again in the brand new Stonehill Golf Course for the LIV Golf points and a share of the $5 million purse.
LIV Golf Bangkok Odds Favor the Last Two Winners
Cameron Smith had an outstanding season on the PGA Tour after the 29-year-old player won the 2022 The Players and The Open Championships. He stood in second place in the world rankings when he joined the LIV Golf series this August. Smith continued in the same form in the new series and won the previous tournament in Chicago.

It was only his second appearance following his debut in Boston. Now the Australian is mentioned as the top favorite to win again. With online sportsbooks in Thailand offering the smallest odds, 5.50 for his victory. But the same odds are offered for the second win of the current overall leader, Dustin Johnson.
The former world-ranking leader didn’t have such good results in the PGA Tour last season after missing the cut on several occasions. The two-time major winner was one of the first players to join the new series. He took part in all five tournaments, and currently leads the overall points standings.
Thanks to his balanced performance which includes his victory in Boston. The LIV Golf Bangkok odds mention next in its list one of the youngest players on the field, Joaquin Niemann. The 23-year-old Chilean player got his second PGA Tour victory at the 2022 Genesis Invitational. He also joined LIV Golf in August and it wasn’t a bad decision. After finishing third and fifth in the last two events. His odds to win now are 7.50.
Oosthuizen, Koepka, and Other Top Players Can also Perform Well
Louis Oosthuizen, the winner of 2010 The Open Championship was close to winning more majors last year. But he eventually finished as a runner-up at the 2021 US Open and the 2021 PGA Championship. In 2022, the South African golfer joined LIV Golf and finished in the top 10 on four occasions. Now Oosthuizen stands in 7th place in the standings and has an odds of 15.00 to get his first win in the series.
Another major winner, Brooks Koepka has also chosen to compete in this tournament. The 32-year-old American had 8 PGA Tour wins including four major titles. But he hasn’t got such good results in LIV Golf yet. Based on his recent results, online gambling sites in Thailand only offer an odds of 31.00 for his win.
Looks like Koepka couldn’t get rid of his big rival, Bryson DeChambeau after the 2020 US Open winner also joined the series. The 29-year-old got two tenth-place finishes so far. While he finished as a runner-up in Boston in the team competition. His odds to win the individual race in Bangkok are 23.00. The same odds are offered for the victory of Sergio Garcia, the 2017 Masters champion.
The former Spanish world No2 was fourth in the previous event in Chicago and can get an even better result now. The main challenger of Dustin Johnson is South African golfer, Branden Grace. The 34-year-old player won the second event in the series in Portland after finishing third in London. He hasn’t achieved such results since. But still managed to keep his second place in the overall standings. Now his odds to win again are 41.00 on 22Bet.
