Keir Starmer Consolidates His Leadership Role

You can always bet on the Labour Party to shoot itself in the foot. Typically the left foot. After the Hartlepool disaster, the knives were out for the party’s leader. So, Keir Starmer needed the Batley And Spen by-election win. However just because Keir is now safe, for the time being, doesn’t mean the left have gone away. Hence, you can still bet on the next Labour leader at online betting sites in the UK like Bet365. Labour’s left just doesn’t learn any lessons alas.
Kim Leadbeater, sister of murdered Labour MP Jo Cox, won the Batley and Spen by-election, albeit with a reduced majority. You could hear Sir Keir Starmer, the party leader, breathe a sigh of relief. People had started talking about a change at the top, but this would put that all on the back burner again. This isn’t just fortunate for Starmer, the entire party can relax again. For now. But don’t bet on the Labour Party moving forward when so many of them cling tight to the past.
Labour’s leftwing has long held the party hostage. Just when you think you can bet on the Labour Party spanking the Conservatives at the ballot box, here’s the loony left. They’re the ones who elected Jeremy Corbyn to the leadership. Classic. Of course their idealism is laudable, just not particularly realistic. Not anymore. The world has moved on. Unfortunately, anyone in the UK gambling laws of cause and effect would thus see the Labour party change is horribly mistaken.
Leadbeater Gives Starmer Some Relief
The odds on the Labour Party shedding the shackles of leftwing idealism any time soon are silly numbers. That’s why people don’t vote for them. The leader of UNITE can stamp his feet all he likes, but Labour has to change. It can’t retain the leftwing policies the party faithful like if they stop Labour from ever actually winning an election. Naturally, you can bet on the Labour Party failing to acknowledge this obvious fact. Moderate leaders have been telling them this for years.

Tony Blair pointed it out years ago, and the Corbyn chaos proved it, but you shouldn’t bet on the Labour Party seeing sense. The left fail to see that the faithful will vote for the party regardless, or should, and persuading the less faithful is key to attaining power again. They see any step to the center as a betrayal of the old ideals on which the party was founded. They’re like someone who has bet on sports in the UK at Bet365 and refuses to accept the final whistle has blown.

Having needled him for ages the left in the party now bet on Keir Starmer trying to marginalize them. The fact they’re on the margins of reality already doesn’t bother them. Unwilling to compromise and stuck in the past they’re the albatross around the party’s neck. They remain staunchly red in a world that has long since gone grey. It’s just one of the reasons even with the Conservatives all at sea you still can’t really bet on the Labour Party to win a general election.
Bet On The Next UK Election
- Any Other Party – 200/1
- Labour Majority – 6/1
- Hung Parliament – 11/8
- Conservative Majority – 5/6
Oh sure you can get odds on it happening, but none as short as the prices Bet365 and other online sportsbook sites in the UK dole out on a hung parliament. Starmer silenced his critics with a by-election win, but they won’t rest for long. UK general election odds still show the Labour Party under achieving. Unfortunately, you can bet on the Labour Party left-wingers to be the last to notice it’s because a message crafted over a century ago has a hard time resonating these days.
