Gambling expansion in Pennsylvania could help to balance the state’s 2016-17 budget deficit.
The majority of Pennsylvania lawmakers are open to expanded gambling, if it’s executed in a responsible way, said House speaker Mike Turzai. Pennsylvania is facing a huge budget deficit for the 2016-17 fiscal year, which is sought to be balanced without increasing the income tax, considering it’s election year. According to US gambling news, legislators are considering to license 24,000 video gaming terminals in 6,000 locations. Representative Mark Mustio believes, that the gaming terminals would provide substantial revenue for both the state and small businesses.
