According to Australian gambling news, as of Sunday, Ladbrokes sponsor NRL team Gold Coast titans. The Gold Coast Titans, who kicked off their season with a 30-12 win over Newcastle Knights, will wear Labrokes’ logo on their sleeves and lower back.

The Uk-based gambling company expanded their operations to Australia in 2013, basing their regional operations in Queensland. That year, they purchased Gaming Investments, a group with included Bookmaker.com.au, for an initial £13m.

Gold Coast Titans CEO Graham Annesley noted that the Ladbrokes brand “internationally is older than the game of rugby league itself”, at over 130 years old. He emphasized that the prestigious brand “shares the Titan’s vision for future growth and success.”

Meanwhile, that Ladbrokes sponsor NRL is an indication that they are seeking to increase their brand awareness and attract a larger share of those who bet on sports in Australia. Last season’s NRL grand final was watched by over four million TV viewers, so if Gold Coast Titans can make the most of Ladbrokes’ investment, it could be a lucrative deal for both.
