Here in part II we will also look at some other sides that will go head to head in La Liga this upcoming weekend.
Betting on games in La Liga can be very lucrative for many punters if they place the correct wagers. Almost every weekend there are plenty of superb games to follow which offer amazing chances to score big rewards. According to Spanish gambling news, we will have a chance to witness an encounter between Barcelona and Villarreal, a match that will bring plenty of football excitement.
• Barcelona strong favorite against Villarreal
• Valencia should be able to overcome Malaga away
• Levante will host Athletic Bilbao around lunchtime Sunday
Levante will face Athletic Bilbao at home, however neither team has performed as well as they would have liked this whole season. Valencia will travel to Malaga where they be looking to capture a win and take home the 3 points. Sevilla and Espanyol will also clash with each team looking to make their presence known.
Levante vs Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla vs Espanyol
Levanter find themselves struggling in the relegation zone with only 16 points form 20 games so far. The last five games they have recorded 3 losses and 2 draws which doesn’t spell a positive future form them any time soon. At home they have won 2 times, drawn 2 times and lost on 4 occasions. Bet365 has given them odds of 3.40 (12/5) to win their upcoming game, however that doesn’t seem very probable.
Athletic Bilbao are in a slightly different position as they currently occupy 13th spot on the table. They are not in the position that they would like to be in, but due to negative results both home and away they have only managed to achieve this much so far. While playing away they have notched 2 wins, 2 draws and a staggering 6 losses, but even still Bet365 ranks them favorites 2.25 (5/4) against Levante. A draw 3.10 (21/10) may also happen considering the recent performances.
Fans will undoubtedly enjoy the encounter between Levante and Athletic Bilbao, however a more thrilling showcase will take place between Sevilla and Espanyol. The winner of the match will have bragging rights to claim over the other and more importantly they will go away with 3 points. Sevilla stand in 5th place while Espanyol are located 4 places below them.
Online sportbooks in Spain are confident that Sevilla will win the encounter 1.57 (4/7) mainly due to their impressive home record (7 wins, 3 draws and 0 losses). Espanyol does not boast the same stats for when they played on the road (1 win, 2 draws and a massive 6 losses) and they have rather disappointed on many occasions. Espanyol have been given underdog chances 5.75 (19/4) whereas a tie has been set at 4.00 (3/1), per Bet365.
Barcelona vs Villarreal and Malaga vs Valencia
Perhaps the greatest clash of the weekend will take place between Catalan powerhouse Barcelona and Villarreal. Luis Enrique’s men sit in 2nd place right behind arch rivals Real Madrid and looking at their home record (8 wins, 0 draws and 1 loss) they should be able to finish this game off rather easily. Bet365 has earmarked them to win 1.20 (1/5) thanks to their fantastic team.
Villarreal will face a tough task as they don’t feature the same players that Barcelona does which means that they will most likely lose. A draw 6.50 (11/2) may be their best target for this match considering their propensity to draw matches while playing away from home. Their away record stands at 2 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss, which is why Bet365 doesn’t rank them as serious contenders to win 13.00 (12/1).
Malaga will face a difficult challenge against Valencia at home this weekend. The Andalusian side has a record of 5 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses when playing at home which is part of the reason why they have accumulated 32 points. They currently sit in 7th place which is not bad considering their team strength however they used to be Champions League participants just a few years ago, while now they lie on the outskirts of the top 6 spots.
Valencia on the other hand are 4th in the league and are fighting hard to break into the top 3 places which would reward them with an automatic Champions League birth. While playing away from home they have recorded 3 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses, stats that are not so reassuring considering their current crop of players.
Per Spanish gambling laws, Bet365 has given Valencia underdog chances 2.75 (7/4), while Malaga enjoy favorite status 2.63 (13/8). A draw does not seem to be on the horizon judging by Valencia’s last five games which had four wins and one draw. Overall, this game could go either way looking at the stats.
