A new Irish gambling initiative brings online poker and live betting together with international poker pros.
The likes of Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth are already confirmed to take part in the new gambling venture to launch on April 5 in Dublin.
iSeries LIVE is bound to bring much needed attention to Irish poker rooms as it will combine poker with live betting opportunities.
The new poker action formal will include live hole cards and will allow real-time viewers to place bets on a whole list of possible scenarios such as winner of the next hand, odds to win, red/black flop, next elimination, last-longer and much more.
The premier tournament will take place in Dublin in full compliance with Irish gambling laws. The event will be a 10-person winner-take-all competition with EUR 10,000 buy-in. Participating players will also receive a share of live bets made for and against them.
According to Ireland gambling news the inaugural event will see the following contestants alongside Negreanu and Hellmuth: Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott, Maria Ho, Carlos Mortensen, Tobias Reinkemeier, James, Dempsey, Marvin Rettenmaier, Faraz Jaka and Eoghan O’Dea.
In order to exclude any possibility of unfair collusion, all poker players will have no access to any mobile devices or any kind of outside influences. The live bets can only be placed via official partner of the iSeries LIVE – Paddy Power Poker.
The new concept was created by Poker Royalty’s Brian Balsbaugh, who claims that this event is just a starting point of a whole new revenue stream for his poker pros.
He commented: “After Black Friday, we were determined to find a way to add new revenue streams for our world class roster of talent. We are fronting the expenses, then sharing the wagering profits with the participating players.”
Balsbaugh went on to add: “There are countless additional ways for us to monetize this model and we look forward to rolling them out over the course of the next year. Our end goal is to pay players for playing iSeriesLIVE events.”
Planned events will feature a 36-person, 6-max NLHE tournaments as well as heads-up competitions.
