The 2020 CSGO season is underway, with ICE Challenge one of the early tournaments to kick off in London in February. A mix of top-tier squads will vie for the trophy. However, in our ICE Challenge 2020 betting predictions we think mousesports have the best chance.
According to online sportsbook news in the UK, ICE Challenge will take place at the ExCel convention center in London. It will run between February 1-6. It is the second edition growing from just four participants in 2019 to eight in 2020. The competition will likely be tight not only because of the quality of the teams but also because the prize pool is five times higher than the 2019’s competition. The prize pool is $250,000 and the winner can obviously expect the lion’s share of $125,000.
The tournament format is about two groups with all matches at the best of 3. The grand final will be at the best of 5. In our ICE Challenge 2020 betting predictions, we think Natus Vincere and mousesports are the favorites to reach the final. Yet only the time will tell who will capture the top spot.
Mousesports highest-ranked in the tournament
The European squad is the highest-ranked of all the participants, placed number 2. The team led by Finn “karrigan” Andersen has closed out 2019 by making it to the finals in five consecutive events winning three of those. Although mousesports lost at EPICENTER 2019, they are still hot favorites with 9/4 odds at Unibet Sportsbook to win. Mousesports are headlining Group A, joined by three teams ranked between 16th-19th including Heroic, Virtus.pro, and MAD Lions. The first stage looks easy according to online gambling sites in the UK. However, the tough challenge will come later especially if NaVi advance from Group B.
Natus Vincere have the experience but need to regroup
The top-ten side Natus Vincere will play in Group B against ENCE, GODSENT, and OG. Their mission does not look extremely tough, especially that they have the experience, being only one of two teams participating in the 2019 edition. Last year, NaVi finished second losing against North in the final. However, their last year’s campaign did not go well, winning just two of the 15 events they competed in. They need to balance their dynamics especially after the return of Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs. That being said NaVi’s odds value 11/4 at Unibet Sportsbook.
ENCE and OG among the top underdogs
The rest of the participants ENCE, Heroic, Virtus.pro, MAD Lions, GODSENT, and OG are residing all over the top 30 rankings. However, only the Finish team ENCE might have a chance to challenge for the title with 4/1 odds. They are in a good position, but they struggled a bit especially after replacing Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen with Miikka “suNny” Kemppi in September. The other underdog with some hope is OG (9/1). The team is absolutely stacked with talent, yet they only competed in a handful of events.
