AAMS of Italy and ARJEL of France cooperate in dealing with online gambling regulations.
Officials and representatives of the Italian and French online gambling regulation have finalized the agreement between the two government bodies during a meeting in Rome.
The two respective authorities, the Italian AAMS (Amministrazione autonoma dei monopoli di Stato – the Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies) and the French ARJEL (Autorite de Regulation des Jeux En Ligne, Regulatory Authority for Online Games) signed an agreement earlier this year.
The online regulators defined terms under which gambling market data would be transmitted and exchanged. AAMS and ARJEL decided to launch effective player protection procedures together,
The prevention of gambling addiction was also in focus during the official meeting as well as the fight against fraud and the prohibition of underage gambling.
The common project promotes administrative cooperation between the two regulators. The two bodies agreed to pool resources to face the challenges in the French online casino industry and its Italian counterpart.
It is likely that Italian regulator AAMS will sooner or later join the agreement between France’s ARJEL and Spain’s DGOJ (Direccion General de Ordenacion del Juego, the General Gaming Commission) to form a common online poker player pool to increase liquidity.
