England Trounce Italy And Congratulate Themselves

As the French move three points clear at the top of the table the bookies tighten their Six Nations odds considerably. Many believe that this is now France’s tournament to lose. Perhaps they will. However whilst that would require a good deal of luck, England are busy congratulating each other for a victory that didn’t require any. Even those who like to bet on sports in the UK felt bad backing England over Italy at Bet365. But to hear England talk you’d think they’d won the final.
“The forwards definitely went forward and that created opportunities.” Said Eddie Jones after England hammered Italy 33-0. Of course, whilst that’s probably true, one does have to remember the opportunities would probably have been there anyway. Italy never get very good Six Nations odds. Mostly because they can barely play the game. So winning against Italy is really nothing to crow about. There are teams of schoolboys narcolepsy in the UK who could beat the Italians.
Fortunately, England seem to have a schoolboy around at the moment. So they heaped some praise upon him for a performance that might have been impressive against anyone else. Marcus Smith got man-of-the-match and a bit of a nod from Eddie Jones who believes he could become “an outstanding player at this level by the World Cup.” Which is no help with England’s Six Nations odds right now. Even online sportsbook sites in the UK like Bet365 give them no hope.
France’s Tournament To Lose Now?
Probably because they don’t really have any. They lost their initial game against Scotland so anyone who still wants to bet on England is a raving optimist. This competition rarely allows a team to recover from defeats early on. That’s why most people now bet on France to walk off with the trophy, and why the odds on France are so short. Online bookies in the UK know they have to offer up Six Nations odds in line with results, however unfortunate for the home sides.
2022 Six Nations Odds
- Italy – 2000/1
- Wales – 40/1
- Scotland – 20/1
- England – 5/1
- Ireland – 7/2
- France – 4/7
“We were full of intent with how we wanted to play.” Continued Eddie as if his side had achieved something. They’ve had more challenging training sessions than that game. Unlike the French who did actually face, and overcome, real opposition in their game with Ireland. You have to feel for those who bet on Ireland. For a while, they must have had such lovely little hopes. Still that victory does seal the grip France has on the Six Nations odds at online betting sites in the UK.
Bet365 Has All The Six Nations Odds You Need
Perhaps the only real surprise in the second round was Wales coming back Scotland and getting a win. Scotland, like those of us who bet on Scotland, will find that a bitter pill after their win against England. They too had dreams. Of course, one win doesn’t mean you should rush out and now bet on Wales instead. They’ve still plenty of issues despite that victory. Not that it didn’t do their Six Nations odds some good, it did. It’s just not really going to prove enough to catch the French.
Six Nations Round 3 Odds
- Scotland 11/5 – 4/11 France
- England 1/7 – 9/2 Wales
- Ireland 1/500 – 40/1 Italy
Indeed the second round just confirmed that the only sensible bet on the Six Nations is one backing France. Just a shame now you can barely find a bet on France at attractive odds. Still that’s the way people who regularly take advantage of UK gambling laws like the Six Nations odds. Cold, stark and accurate. So if the odds on the Six Nations appear just a tad too much in France’s favor, that’s because they’re just a tad too much better than the rest of the teams.
