The FIA had to abandon its plans to overhaul F1 due to the exigencies of the ongoing situation. This means that the 2021 odds on Mercedes winning the Constructors Championship are ridiculously short. Online sportsbook sites in the UK like Bet365 give them a skant 1/4 to win again. This is not surprising. They are, after all, still head-and-shoulders above the rest of the field. However, this doesn’t mean it’ll be a dull year for those who like to bet on Formula 1.
F1 suffering a delay to the massive regulatory changes that were set to revitalize the sport was a blow. Liberty Media (the owners of F1) forced into this postponement, is attempting to make the best of it. They’ve made a few small changes here and there which could prove interesting, but otherwise are relying on the shuffled grid for entertainment. The 2021 odds on Mercedes might signpost another win for the silver arrows, but behind them, things will very interesting.
Will Sebastian Vettel find his feet again at Aston Martin? Can Yuki Tsunoda impress at Alpha Tauri? Just what will Fernando Alonso bring back to F1 at Alpine? We will find out. More importantly, we’ll be able to bet on it. Online betting sites in the UK like Bet365 love offering books beyond just the winners. Alonso especially is likely to pique their creativity. Will he win a race this season? The 2021 odds on Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton rather preclude it, but might.
2021 Odds On Mercedes Stabilize Ahead Of New Season
The romance of Alonso’s return to a renamed Renault aside, it will be interesting to see if McLaren gets faster with their new Mercedes engine. Or, indeed, if Williams becomes any more reliable with a Mercedes gearbox. When it comes to a bet on the first retirement in a race, that could be salient information. The 2021 odds on Mercedes might not attract you to bet Grand Prix winners, but the number of interesting rookies should definitely make a bet on the losers’ fun.
2021 F1 Constructors Championship Odds
- Williams – 1500/1
- Alfa Romeo – 1000/1
- Haas – 1000/1
- Alpha Tauri – 500/1
- McLaren – 100/1
- Alpine (formerly Renault) – 80/1
- Aston Martin (formerly Racing Point) – 66/1
- Ferrari – 14/1

Little can eclipse those 2021 odds on Mercedes but some of the rookies might. Beyond the Japanese Tsunoda, there’s a new Russian Nikita Mazepin who’ll be racing at Haas. Alas, they may go unnoticed. Mick Schumacher, son of the great Michael, is also racing for them. To say he’ll be the focus of attention for much of the media this season is an understatement. Sure, he won’t be that great a bet on sports in the UK till he gets to a faster team, but that’s inevitable.
Bet365 Has All The Odds On F1 You Need
So in a 23 race calendar that includes new races in Zandvoort and Jeddah the 2021 odds on Mercedes may become irrelevant. The odds on Lewis Hamilton, however, will still attract a lot of backers. Still, more will bet on Ferrari to overcome their malaise and actually pose a threat or bet on Red Bull to do the same. Just how sensible that is, is questionable. Mercedes continue to dominate, so a bet on Lewis Hamilton is just common sense if you insist on picking winners.
2021 F1 Drivers Championship Odds
- Anyone Else – 100/1+
- Daniel Ricciardo – 80/1
- Fernando Alonso – 80/1
- Charles Leclerc – 33/1
- George Russell – 33/1
- Sergio Perez – 20/1
- Valtteri Bottas – 11/2
- Max Verstappen – 5/1
- Lewis Hamilton – 2/5
Fortunately, as I mentioned, F1 odds are more diverse than those of horse-racing. There are more options than merely win-place-or-show. The odds on Red Bull will be great at some circuits, not least at the Dutch Grand Prix. Max will be all over that one. Even the odds on Ferrari won’t be terrible everywhere. Indeed, you may wish to take advantage of UK gambling laws to back them winning the season opener at Albert Park in Australia. It’s not like they haven’t done it before, right?
