  • Formula E 2019/20 season continues in August
  • Drivers will have six races in 9 days in Berlin
  • Current leader is Portuguese Antonio Felix da Costa

After the suspension of this year’s season finally Formula E will continue in August. But instead of the original race locations, six races will be held in Berlin within only 9 days. In the Formula E winner odds, current championship leader Antonio Felix da Costa is the favourite but other drivers can still catch him in the rest of the season.

This is the 6th season of the greener version of Formula 1, where electric cars are racing on city circuits all over the world. But of course the Formula E season has been affected like all the other sports as well, and was suspended after only 5 races. In the new schedule drivers will only travel to one location which is Berlin, Germany. They’ll race in three double-headers with only 1-2 days break between them. Drivers will compete in a special environment, at Tempelhof Airport on three different track configurations. So teams will have a chance to use different tactics and car settings and hopefully provide exciting races.

Formula E winners odds favor current leader da Costa to become champion

Online sportsbooks in Germany are offering the smallest odds, 3.00 at 1xBet Sportsbokfor the final win of Portuguese driver Antonio Felix da Costa. He is a FIA World Endurance champion and winner of the Macau Grand Prix Formula 3 races in 2012 and 2016. He has been racing in Formula E since the beginning, 2014 and won 3 races so far. After finishing 6th last season, da Costa is leading the championship this year.  He has managed to secure three podium finishes including one victory in the first five races.

This car goes very fast.

But his lead is not huge ahead of current 2nd-place Mitch Evans, a driver from New Zealand. Evans has won several other series before like the Toyota Racing Series in 2011 and the GP3 series in 2012. After four seasons in GP2, he joined Formula E and the team of Panasonic Jaguar Racing in 2016. Since then his results have been getting better and better, last year he got his first victory in Rome. But this season he has a real chance to become champion, as he is only 11 points behind da Costa. His odds to do so is 6.50 at 1xBet Sportsbook in the Formula E winner odds.

Defending champion Vergne’s chances

Even though Jean-Eric Vergne is a two-time defending champion, he is only in 8th place at the moment. The French is 36 points behind the leader and teammate at Chinese team DS Techeetah. So he needs to produce a very strong second half of the season if he wants to defend his title. Online gambling sites in Germany are giving him the odds of 12.00 to achieve that.

Same chances are offered for another former Formula 1 driver, Stoffel Vandoorne. He is driving for the newly joined Mercedes team and currently is in 6th place. The Belgian driver started the season well with two third place finishes, but after it went wrong. He didn’t finish the Mexican race and only finished in 15th place in the last race in Marrakesh. Bigger threat can be to the current leader though British driver Alexander Sims competing for BMW i Andretti Motorsport. This is only his second season in Formula E but the 32-year old has plenty of experience from other series. And after winning the second race in Saudi Arabia, the odds of 7.50 at 1xBet to finish on top of the championship.
