Playtech and Sun Bingo have brokered a five-year deal to replace Gamesys with Playtech as the key supplier for the popular UK-based online bingo operator.
In UK gambling news, Playtech announced that its Virtue Fusion bingo division has signed a lucrative five-year contract with News UK to operate Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo. Virtue Fusion will now power both mobile and desktop versions of the sites, with the new offerings being scheduled to launch in August 2016.
Sun Bingo is widely regarded as the biggest and most popular online bingo website in UK. Prior to signing the deal with Playtech, it had been powered by Tombola and Gamesys. Gamesys’ loss of its New UK contract is its first major business loss since it sold its B2C brands to Intertain Group earlier in 2015. It is now effectively a B2B business.
Executives looking forward to Playtech and Sun Bingo partnership
Chief executives from Playtech predict only great things coming from the newly announced Playtech and Sun Bingo partnership. They are confident that the joining of the online gambling sites in UK will innovate the Sun Bingo brand.
Says Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer of the contract: “The Playtech-powered Sun Bingo will use cutting-edge technology to offer best-performing and highly innovative bingo and side games, with fantastic promotions and prizes and the industry’s largest jackpots. This is a fantastic partnership that is aligned with our ongoing strategy of working with the best operators and media brands in regulated markets. We look forward to working closely with News UK to deliver a first-class product.”
Weizer’s confidence in the Playtech and Sun Bingo deal is not misplaced. The business world has already taken notice and action since news broke of the contract on Monday, with shares in Playtech plc trading up 0.44% at 802.00 pence per share in London.
