The new, 2020-21 Ski Jumping World Cup starts this weekend with the first race of the season in Wisla, Poland. Both the men’s individual and team competition will take place with all favorites competing. In the FIS World Cup Wisla odds defending champion Stefan Kraft is the top favorite but he is facing tough competition from his main rivals.

In the 42nd edition of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup 28 events are scheduled in 20 different locations for the men’s race. Each competition there is a qualifying round, then the first round with 50 and a second round with 30 skiers. The winner of the race receives 100 World Cup points but even the 30th competitor will get one point. Austrian skier Stefan Kraft is the defending overall champion and one of the biggest favorites for the weekend as well. Even though he only finished 21st here last season.

Austrian Kraft is predicted to win in the FIS World Cup Wisla odds

Online sportsbooks in Poland offer the smallest odds, 6.00 for the victory of defending overall World Cup champion Stefan Kraft. The Austrian has already won the World Cup title twice, just like the Ski Flying World Cup title. He also won the gold medal in the 2017 World Championship at normal hill and large hill. Kraft has been one of the most consistent athletes in the sport after finishing in the top six since 2014. He struggled with a back injury during this summer though, so we have to see if he can perform at the same level as before.

His biggest rivals can be the German duo of Markus Eisenblicher and Karl Geiger according to the FIS World Cup Wisla odds. Eisenblicher is a three-time world champion from last year, where he won the large hill, the team and mixed team events. Even though he only got one World Cup win so far, he can fight for the overall title this season.  His odds to win the first race in Wisla is 7.00. While his countryman, Geiger got four World Cup wins last season and finished second in the overall standing. The Polish race might not be his strongest, but he still has the odds of 11.00 to win here.

Local favorites and the biggest talent of the sport

Online gambling sites in Poland also mention local favorites, Kamil Stoch and Dawid Kubaki with a chance to win in their homeland. Stoch finished third last season in Wisla. Now he has the odds of 7.50 to finish on the top of the podium. The two-time overall World Cup winner is one of the most successful Polish ski jumpers with three individual Olympic titles. He also got one individual and one team gold from the World Championships. Stoch finished fifth last season in the overall standing but can easily fight for another title this season. Just like Kubaki, who is the 2019 Individual Large Hill world champion and the winner of the Four Hills Tournament last season. His odds are also 7.50 to win on home soil.

Japanese top class ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi won all six possible titles in the 2018-19 World Cup season after winning 13 World Cup events in that year.  But last season he wasn’t as strong as before even though he could still win three races. He finished third in the overall standing and 2nd in raw air. But now the 24-year-old athlete can get back to his top form. His odds are 8.00 for winning in Wisla on 22Bet.
