Formula 1 drivers are about to take on the Virtual Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai on April 19. McLaren’s Norris remains the favorite at Virtual Chinese GP odds, despite facing setbacks in the first two events. But, Ferrari’s Leclerc has proven himself on eSports and he can easily win again.
Following the huge success of the Virtual Bahrain GP and Vietnam GP, F1 is back on track for the third virtual race in China. Six F1 active drivers along with retired athletes and celebrities are competing. Thus, F1’s Head of Esports Julian Tan said to Autosport, “It is very important to us that we can give our fans something to look forward in these uncertain times, so to see such an impressive list of returning drivers is fantastic”.
As online sportsbook news sites in China reported the race will be contested on F1 2019 as F1 2020 is not yet out. It will include an 18-minute qualifying session followed by a 50% distance race. The race is taking place at the Shanghai International Circuit, which has multiple tricky corners. What is more, you can watch the race live across F1’s official channels on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
After analyzing the first two events, three teams will likely dominate the virtual race. Unfortunately, Mercedes is not one of them. Instead, Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull are leading the Virtual Chinese GP odds.
Ferrari’s Leclerc dominated the Vietnam GP
Despite training for only eight days, Ferrari’s two-time Grand Prix winner Charles Leclerc was untouchable on his debut virtual race. He won the Virtual Vietnam GP by 10 seconds and remained unchallenged after his first corner. His brother Arthur the member of the Ferrari driver academy finished fourth. You can get a glimpse of the highlights here on Red Bull.
Leclerc will be back on the Virtual Chinese GP to defend his victory. It is unclear yet whether his brother will join or he will be replaced. However, Leclerc has strongly proven himself in the last event. Thus, online sportsbooks in China expect him to win again easily with 4.5 odds on Pinnacle Sports.
McLaren’s Norris is constantly facing tech issues
McLaren’s Lando Norris has faced an unfortunate incident of a system error that cost him to be kicked out of the Vietnam GP. However, it was not the first technical issue as he faced problems with internet connection in the first event. Despite that Norris was very competitive in Bahrain and he was denied a top-four sport at the last minute. Will he finally win his first virtual race in China? Well, it is highly possible with his Virtual Chinese GP odds standing at 3.0.
Red Bull is coming in with a surprising package
The prolific racer Max Verstappen remains unwilling to join the F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix series. But, Red Bull has drafted in Real Madrid and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. He will be replacing the cricketer Ben Stokes who raced with the team at the opening two races but finished last at Vietnam GP. Courtois will be partnering with Alex Albon who managed to jump from 17th to 8th place in the last race.
It is hard to predict how far Albon and Courtois will understand each other. But, their odds value at 10.0 to pull off an upset. Besides, if you wish to see the best odds of the rest of the contenders, check the review about Pinnacle Sports.
