Athens 2004 – Dream Debut

Games in Greece became the Olympic debut for a young athlete from the United States. The 18-year-old took the silver medal in the 200m race, setting a world record in the under 20 categories. Less than a year later, she became the youngest world champion in the history of 200 meters. In 2007, she repeated the success, overtaking Veronica Campbell, the Olympic champion from Jamaica, who was faster than Felix in Athens.

Allison did not qualify for the Olympic 100m race but repeated her success in the 200m race. The American showed the best time of the season but again finished after Campbell. At the 2009 World Championships, Felix took revenge on Campbell but did not lower her requirements: “I will never be satisfied with defeat. I would exchange three world titles for Olympic gold. ”

London 2012: Allyson Felix Wins Gold at a Distance of 200 m 

The Olympic Games in London are the most successful of Allison’s career. She took part in four races: 100 m, 200 m, 4×100 m, 4×400 m. In the 100-meter race, the American finished fifth but showed the best time for herself: 10.89. The rest of the distances brought Felix three gold.

A few months before the Olympics in Brazil, Felix suffered an unpleasant injury. While training at the gym, she fell off the bar, twisted her ankle and injured her knee. In the national qualifiers, Allison ran through the pain. The athlete managed to fully recover for the Games in Rio, but the drama did not end there. In the 400m race, Felix finished second, just 0.07 seconds behind champion Shauna Miller. The athlete from the Bahamas won gold with a jump at the finish line. In the relay races, as in London, Alisson again won two victories.

Although here it was not all that simple. The USA national team was disqualified from the 4x100m semi-finals due to an incorrect handover at the Felix stage. Replays later revealed that Allison was thwarted by a Brazilian runner. The next day, the American women repeated the race alone – the girls had a good time, went to the finals, and won gold.

Tokyo 2020: The Last Olympics

35-year-old Allyson Felix came to the fifth Olympics after a difficult pregnancy and with the thought that this was her last Olympic Game. In Tokyo, Felix won Olympic bronze in 400 meters.

She finished third with a time of 49.46 seconds. This medal became the tenth for Allyson Felix at the Olympics. Previously the best achievement belonged to the Jamaican sprinter Merlin Otti (9 medals).
