2022 Swedish Rally is held this weekend, 24-27 February

The race has been moved 700km north to guarantee snow and ice

Elfyn Evans won the last race here in 2020 and is in the top favorites again
The 2022 World Rally Championship continues this weekend in Sweden with one of the toughest races of the season. Elfyn Evans won the last event in 2020 and he is the top favorite in the 2022 Swedish Rally predictions. But Rovanpera, Tanak, and Neuville can all get the win in the freezing conditions.
Sebastien Loeb won the first race of the season, the 2022 Monte Carlo Rally but the nine-time world champion won’t compete in Sweden this weekend. The other legend of the sport, Sebastien Ogier will also miss the Swedish Rally and only race in selected events. But even in their absence, we can still expect an exciting contest and lots of drama. The race has been moved 700km north to the Vasterbotten area to guarantee the snowy conditions. So it will be an all-new route for the drivers, with 17 stages covering 264km. Even though all teams had tests in the country, the race will surely bring some extra challenges for all of them. Elfyn Evans won the last race here two years ago and will aim for a good result again.
2022 Swedish Rally Predictions Favor Evans and Rovanpera
Elfyn Evans had a poor start of the season after finishing only 21st in the Monte Carlo Rally. Now the Toyota driver is hoping to get a much better result in the snowy conditions. With online sportsbooks in Sweden also favoring him for the win. Evans will start from the sixth position in Sweden, which also means better conditions for him and a big advantage. Plus the British driver loves these kinds of conditions after also winning last year’s Finland Rally. His odds to get his 6th WRC victory are 3.40 in the 2022 Swedish Rally predictions.
Another driver who is familiar with driving in snow is Kalle Rovanpera who finished here third in 2020. The young Toyota driver got the first victories of his career last season and finished 4th in the overall standing. Now he can get an even better result this year but he needs to win races for that. The Swedish Rally can be a perfect place for that as the Finnish driver is used to the icy conditions. Just like his compatriot, Esapekka Lappi, who will drive a Toyota for the first since leaving the team in 2018. He missed the last WRC season but will share the Yaris Rally 1 seat with Ogier this year. The Finnish drivers’ odds to get the win are 3.74 and 10.00 on 22Bet.
Tanak, Neuville and Breen in Other Favorites
Ott Tanak had to retire in the first race of the season in Monaco but can finish on top in Sweden this weekend. Where he has been performing extremely well in the last few years after winning the race in 2019 and finishing as a runner-up in 2017 and 2020. The Estonian is also good on winter roads which he also proved in Finland last year.
No wonder online gambling sites in Sweden mention him in the biggest favorites too. And offer the odds of 4.00 for his victory. The 2019 world champion won’t have an easy job though against the three Toyota cars.
His teammate at Hyundai, Thierry Neuville has also won the Swedish Rally once, back in 2018, and finished on the podium two more times. He was third in last year’s Arctic Rally proving he is not bad on snow either. Neuville didn’t have the best start in Monte Carlo after finishing sixth place. But his chances of winning in Sweden are not bad with the odds of 5.00. M-Sport Ford driver Craig Been follows him in the favorites with the odds of 8.50. The Irish driver was third in Monte Carlo and can fight for his maiden world championship title this season. His best result in Sweden has been a second-place finish in 2018. But starting from the second position can be a big disadvantage for him.
