Dortmund have come from behind twice to defeat Bayern in Bundesliga’s biggest derby.

BVB to continue their form and seal the Bundesliga crown this season

After defeating Bayern Munich 3-2 in dramatic fashion on Saturday evening, Dortmund now have a really good chance of taking advantage of their fierce rival’s downturn in the Bundesliga and potentially going all the way to the title.

Dortmund’s 18-year-old midfielder Jadon Sancho – former youth player at Manchester City – played the entire game from the start and what’s even more impressive is that he proved indispensable for his team with his incisive passes and vision in gameplay as BVB managed to bounce back twice from going down.

The young English international highlighted the victory over their biggest rivals is simply down to the squad’s determination and collective hard work on the ball, according to providers internet betting in Germany. Sancho doesn’t shy away from dreaming the biggest trophies, as he believes this win over Bayern could go on to see them clinch the Bundesliga title this season and even targets the possibility of lifting the Champions League. Sancho said:

“This result came from everyone working hard together. If we keep on doing this throughout the season, we could win big things. Obviously we’ll celebrate tonight, but then we’ll forget about the game and think about the next one. We just have to keep working hard and focus on the next game. If we keep on doing this we’ve a good chance of winning the league or – who knowns? – the Champions League. You never know.”

Bayern Munich’s reign of dominance might be over

Niko Kovac
It’s hard to see them bouncing back under Croatian manager Niko Kovac.

The 3 points from their victory over Bayern Munich now sees Dortmund extend their 4-point lead at the top of the table over second-placed Borussia Monchengladbach who are on 23 points. Having collected only 20 points from 11 games so far this campaign, the Bavarian giants are in 5th position.

Judging by their style of playing under Croatian manager Niko Kovac (a former Bayern player himself) it’s hard to see them bouncing back and challenging for the league, especially by the way Dortmund have been playing this season.

Kovac’s potential sack has been heavily talked about by online sportsbooks in Germany in recent weeks, but Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has poured cold water on the notion of showing the Croatian the exit door. Instead they’ve decided to stick with him as they retain hopes of turning their fortunes around. Hoeness said:

“(Sacking) our manager is out of the question. Our team is in very good condition. The team does not play for the coach, but for Bayern Munch and they do it well.”

The Bundesliga title has gone to Bavaria for the last six consecutive seasons, with BVB winning the league last time in 2011/12. Since Pep Guardiola’s era with Die Roten (2013-2016) that has transformed the Bundesliga, no other German has managed to come close to the domestic championship triumph. But it seems that this campaign could be the one to finally see a change, as Dortmund are shaping up to be a side capable of lifting the title at the end of the season.
