Donald Trump’s billions came from his perseverance and hard-nosed business decisions. His philosophy to getting rich borders more on draconian measures at times than sound conventional wisdom. Trump has a good old-fashioned “dog eat dog” mentality that comes from his upbringing in Queens to his negotiations for construction contracts. Trump has always spoken his mind and accuses his critics of weakness when they complain. Whether he is on the losing or winning side of an argument, Trumps lambasts tend to find their way into the heart of US gambling news.

Donald Trump’s popularity begins with his name

Donald Trump’s popularity is rooted to the intelligent use of his name as a brand. Perhaps this started while Trump grew up observing his father’s company which bore the name “Elizabeth Trump and Son.” Although the first use of his name was dedicated towards real estate, hospitality and entertainment ventures, Trump used it for other industries as well.

Big salary, fame and popularity, Trump made a very good deal with “The Apprentice”

Donald Trump’s popularity was always fueled by his appearances. He has won two Emmy Awards for his appearances on television shows. Normally playing himself, Trump has been featured on shows such as The Nanny, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Days of Our Lives. Trump as also made his presence known on film in features such as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Trump Productions, a television production company, may have been the smartest business venture Trump has pursued that directly affected his popularity. In 2003, Trump was the executive producer of a reality show on the National Broadcasting Company called “The Apprentice.” The real estate mogul, who starred in the show, oversaw a group of competitors who fought for an upper management position. Trump made himself known for his ceremonious catchphrase “you’re fired.”

The show proved hugely successful and added to the “aura” surrounding Trump. Although he was reportedly paid USD 3 million an episode, Trump claimed he was paid USD 213 million for all 14 episodes. Trump received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the Apprentice. NBC Universal just announced this year the continuation of the Apprentice for its 15th season, but it was revoked after Trump made derogatory comments concerning immigrants.

Like The Apprentice, his WWE appearances aren’t meant to appeal to the sophisticated few

Trump has been a supporter of the World Wrestling Entertainment. He is friends with WWE owner Vince McMahon. The 69-year-old hosted WrestleMania twice in Trump Plaza. In addition, the 1991 WBF Championship was held in Trump’s Taj Mahal. He has also appeared in WrestleMania five times. Although he fought in the “Battle of the Billionaires”, I wouldn’t advise wagering on him through online sportsbooks in the US. The odds would be better for Trump to build a new Chinese Casino.
