Bundesliga Champions Confident for DFB-Pokal title run
Having eliminated Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig and holders Borussia Dortmund in the previous two rounds, Bayern Munich were handed a tie against third division outfit SC Paderborn in the quarter finals. Paderborn are the only club from outside the top flight still alive in the Cup, but there are no signs that they will make any trouble for the Bundesliga giants. This match is very safe to place a bet on Bayern. At Bwin Sportsbook the odds for Bayern are 1.15, while for Paderborn they are 15.00.
DFB-Pokal quarter finals preview on Schalke vs Wolfsburg
After the humiliating (3-1) loss in the first week of 2018 Bundesliga at Red Bull Arena, Schalke will focus on coming back strong next games. They will face the stumbling Wolfsburg, which are very close to the relegation zone. Although Wolfsburg’s record did not improve lately, encountering three draws and one loss in last four Bundesliga games, they had some good moments against strong teams. They won (3-0) at M’gladbach and finished against Schalke, Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen with a draw. Even if Wolfsburg manage to defend their side relentlessly in the quarter final, we expect the match to end in victory for Schalke. The odds for Schalke stand at 1.85, while for Wolfsburg they are 4.00.
A walkover for Bayer Leverkusen
(source: WS Buzz)
Bayer Leverkusen prepares for an easy game against the struggling Werder Bremen who sit in the Bundesliga relegation playoff spot so far. Werder Bremen needed three months to score the first Bundesliga victory (4-0) at Hannover for this season. Thus, their performance in DFB-Pokal is more hopeful, as they won at both Freiburg and Hoffenheim in the previous two rounds.
Werder Bremen’s next mission will be extremely difficult. It was not a long ago since they were defeated (1-0) at BayArena. Online sportsbooks in Germany expect similar result for Werder Bremen’s next visit to BayArena on Feb 07. The odds for a victory to Bayer stand at 1.65, for a draw they are 3.90, while the odds for a surprising win to Werder Bremen are 4.75.
Eintracht Frankfurt to outplay Mainz
Eintracht Frankfurt reached the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals with easy victories over lower-tier teams in previous rounds. Their real test will be in the next clash against Mainz who passed after a thrilling win on Stuttgart in last-16 round. Thus the both teams are not in their best shape this season, but Eintracht are doing much better. They are in a safe zone in Bundesliga placed 9 with 27 points, unlike Mainz who are under threat to be relegated at the end of this season if they keep low spirit in the upcoming weeks. At Bwin Sportsbook Eintracht are the favorites to win the quarterfinal, with odds standing at 1.90.
