A new data was presented by the Danish national regulatory body which has shown that the gambling market has grown greatly.
The Scandinavian country’s gambling regulator, Spillemyndigheden, has released new data. According to this, the source of demand for online betting and mobile casino gambling has shown large increase during the past 2 years.
The gross income that was generated by gaming within the Danish market in 2014 is expected to approach DKK 7.8 billion (EUR 905.2 million). The difference is easily notable, compared to the statistics from two years ago: the revenue has grown by DKK 300 million since 2012.
The largest growth was in the betting market
The Northern European country’s gambling market was boosted due to the huge revenue increase achieved in betting. In 2012, Spillemyndigheden has recorded an income of DKK 1.2 billion while in 2014 the regulator of Danish gambling laws have reported great growth up to DKK 1.8 billion.
The online casino market has also experienced an increase from DKK 870 million to $1.1 billion. Although they reported positive results in the online market, land-based casinos have not been so successful. Their income has decreased by DKK 20 million to DKK 325 million, while gambling machines generated DKK 1.8 billion 2 years ago and only DKK 1.5 billion the last year.
